is there a way to condense, "ABSOLUTELY GOD AWESOME TO THE END OF ALL EVER IN THE HISTORY OF EVER IN THE WORLD" into a word?
....work.

Here's a ringtone I made of one of my favorite tracks in the game that didn't end up in the mp3 soundtrack. Enjoy!

interesting, he mentions that there was originally more romance scenes planned for the game that they didn't get to do. Hmmm....

I will say I was disappointed when they removed the recruitable Elcor squadmate, that would have been an interesting romance to unfold... (I'm just kidding, please don't ban me BioWare!)

Jimmy, did you go to a music school or are you one of those self-educated musicians like Nobuo Uematsu?

Oh wow, I totally just now saw that the interview got pimped on the ME site. If you're reading this, then thanks a ton, Chris!

I'm actually not sure which "victory" theme you're talking about, haha :x
There was a short little outro that plays right after you kill the colossus in the Tali acq and it's sort of "fanfare-ish", and it's been a couple months since my last playthrough, so I don't remember which it was during the loyalty mission. But was that it perhaps? I'm pretty sure it's in the OST at the end of Tali's track, unless you're talking about another one
(It's sad I should know the OST better than that, but I suppose in my own defense, there were a LOT of individual tracks, and it was easy to lose track of which was which)

btw, just a bit of trivia for anyone who's interested or didn't already know, I got the title "Nova Siberia" from the Mass Effect wiki on Noveria, which is apparently how the name of the planet was contrived. And I thought that was a pretty awesome explanation

One question that hasn't been asked before - was there a particular reason to exclude ambient music for the Normandy and the hub worlds (Citadel, Illium, Omega)? Large parts of the game feel strangely silent now, and I honestly miss the "Normandy" theme buzzing in the background as I walked around the ship - not to mention on the large cities!
It might be the result of trying to make 4 hub worlds all with lots of non-mission related characterization. Simple things like a Krogan mechanic wanting to talk to you more after completing his side quest instead of thanking you and disappearing. As a result, each hub world feels compact, but there are still many characters with things to say - even if they don't give quests.Fredvdp wrote...

Why is there no music in the hub worlds (illium, citadel, omega)
or the Normandy for ME2? The presidium theme and wards theme from ME1
were great.
That's a good question. Brian and Jimmy have both played through
the game a couple times and actually mentioned this. Really, it was all
mostly just a matter of what BioWare wanted and where. Personally I
would have preferred music in those locations as well, but c'est la vie.
Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll bring back the presidium/wards music
for ME3.
