But it depends if they can streamline the gameplay and ruleset enough to work correctly on a console; the PC has always been the superior platform for "proper" CRPGs for various reasons (one of which is the fact it utilizes the keyboard and mouse, which allows a greater degree of control).
Also depends who makes it; BioWare can't because EA would have to buy the D&D license, and that depends on if Atari will sell it. Obsidian are my first choice for it because Interplay's still a bit rocky.

Actually I think it's going to be an earlier than expected April Fool's joke.

Baldur's Gate has been on consoles though (Dark Alliance 1 and 2), although it's not the same one.

It's even worse than that. Thanks to mess with Turbine and Wizards of the Coast both suing Atari, the D&D license probably won't change hands until those cases are resolved. Nor are chances high for the release of any new D&D games at all. A Baldur's Gate III announcement would be about the most shocking possible reveal BioWare could make in my opinion. Moreso than a proper KotOR sequel.

I prefer Obsidian for BG3 also at this point. Those guys aren't fond of romances in RPGs, and that's the way I like it.

What? Since when does a turn based RPG compare to the sidescrolling lightspeed chaotic awesomeness that is Sonic the Hedgehog?
