BioWare's PR has responded to Joystiq's Ben Gilbert with the following statement: "The
announcement is more community focused and won't be a game
announcement. Unfortunately we can't share the details with the press."

Speaking of countdowns, the only time I ever followed one of these was when Wizards of the Coast had one for 4e. It was hilarious. There were so many people eager to confirm that it was indeed a 4e announcement, that when the counter hit zero and I clicked, the page crashed. It didn't come up again for hours.

If they lump it all together with some Dragon Age stuff, I think it would be. It'd be a collection of fairly major features to the site.Seagloom wrote...
I have to admit, being able to upload our Mass Effect 2 data would be neat. So would getting our old game signifiers. I'm not sure that's countdown worthy though.

What? Where the heck is this?!Beetgreen wrote...
It's pretty obvious that it's going to be Dragon Age 2. We were already given a teaser in the Dragon Age Awakening box so it's fitting that this will be a followup to that.
There's a double sided flyer inside. One side has EA Comics, the otherside is picture of a red dragon with a date 02-01-2011.

I think I might cry.

Umm, I didn't have that in my retail edition of awakening...

You know, that's probably a very good guess on what the timer is about. Bioware has said repeatedly it's "community-based", and this Bioware Social site HAS technically been in beta all this time...

hmmm i wonder if Bioware took in consideration that the clock went forward 1h last night? If they didn't will they start the event 1h earlier?
Does it even matter? It's less than 1% of the length of the countdown.
