THE SNOW GLOBE

What is up with the Snow Globe companion gift??! It's sold by a vendor in Amaranthine. In the Snow Globe are two tiny figures of King Alistair and Queen Anora surrounded by glittering snowflakes. *gags*

I chose Alistair to be King. He put Anora in the tower and remained my lover no matter what.

I feel cheated. It seems like I'm living in an alternate reality, or I'm delusional, or I've been played for a fool.

In the past 6 months, did he marry Anora after all? If so, I can't believe Eamon allowed it. He wanted Cailan to put her aside because she was almost past her childbearing age. I can't stand the way politics play with people's lives in DAO and Awakening. Does Ferelden have to imitate 16th century England? I thought the Grey Wardens were supposed to be neutral, especially since this isn't a Blight.

If Alistair married Anora after all, I'm never doing favors for him again. After I restore Vigil's Keep, defeat the latest threat, get all my good loot, and appease the nobles, I'm leaving. I have had it with these sloppy inconsistent gimmicks.

I will be really really really pissed if my happy ending in Origins with Alistair not being king and instead following me to rebuild the Grey Warden still results in a Snow Globe in Awakening containing King Alistair and Queen Anora.

I seriously would like a patch for this. Please remove the Snow Globe from the game. It does not represent the ending I paid $40 for.

For a franchise that had the RPG game of the year in 2009, it is astounding how many glitches I came across in the epilogues and dialogues in Origins. For instance, even though I chose Anora to rule, when I tell Alistair about Morrigan's ritual, he complains that now he's king everyone comes to him for help with the most minor things. I just want to slap him sometimes and tell him to grow up. Everyone comes up to me for everything, because it seems like they can't solve their own problems, especially about who to put on the thrown. Makers breath, take a VOTE.

I swear next time I'm sacrificing myself, to hell with Morrigan's betrayal. Don't I the Hero of Ferelden deserve to be happy? I don't want titles or riches (I have infinite money), in fact, I gave the ruling of the Denerim Alienage to Shianni. All I want is for Alistair to love me, no matter what. And of course kill a lot of darkspawn. And a new sword. And I want Dog back. Even if he's not a playable companion, at least he could be my watchdog at the Keep.

6/10.

On topic though, Queen Cousland here, the Snow Globe contained King Cailan and Queen Anora.

Well that's interesting. Mine was Cailan and Anora.

But the WTF? Yeah, right there with you. What an odd way for your choices to carry over!  Any Queen Coulsands find this gift yet?

The answer is that it's a gift for Sigrun. She has a thing for surface kitsch.

My snow globe had figures of King Cailan and Queen Anora. Not half as bad as having her and Alistair there, but Cailan's dead and Anora's supposed to be locked in the tower. So, you know. This was in the playthrough where Alistair is king and my hnf is his queen. I actually didn't mind it as much as her disappearing for no reason in the epilogue.

Yeah, I put Anora on the throne alone, and mine was also Cailan and Anora.

Bugs! You have bugs in your snow globe!

I found this gift as queen and mine was definitely Cailan and Anora. It was probably in a sale.

Sure, Cailan's dead and Anora is (hopefully) locked in a tower... but I just figured that meant it was outdated and selling for coppers on the sovereign. It happens, especially with souvenir type kitsch. Sigrun won't know or care though. :D

They aren't bugs. Geez, the thing was probably made before the blight even started.

Exactly, when she was drafted Cailan was probably still alive and I don't think the Legion of the Dead get frequent news bulletins...

In my so far only Awakening game, I had Alistair and Anora ruling, but Snowglobe contained Cailan and Anora. I figured it's from the bargain bin, left over collectors item from their wedding.

Well, I played as an Orlesian Warden and the snow globe still had Cailan and Anora, though Alistair was king. I don't think it's actually meant to reflect the reality of the game.

I just checked my queen game and my mistress game, both snow globes are Anora and Cailan.

I've been puzzling over who would get the darn thing, but my queen is a little obsessed with it so she'll hang on to it. It's certainly a nice reminder of the fleeting nature of power.

It's a shame you can't find more of this stuff. Souvenir spoons, commemorative plates, figurines, Cailan and Anora dress-up sets (you know, for kids!), shot glasses, air fresheners, nightlights...The mind, it boggles.

Deluxe Cailan and Kung-Fu Grip Action Ogre! Now you too can squeeze the life out of your sovereign lord!

Coming Soon - Duncan and Hurlock Alpha with Axe-Swinging Power Arm! Decapitation was never so much fun.

Yeah, I haven't done a DC Awakening game yet, but if you play DN she knows that you were exiled and vaguely about the new King but not that you cleared up your legal status, are either a Paragon or being considered for one depending on when the game takes place, and put the new King on the throne. She explains that the Legion doesn't like it when they go back to Orzammar, even for gossip.

Priceless! I choked on my rootbeer when I read your post.

My game seemed to match the way I played the OC, I married the HOT blonde and became her "prince".

She even almost showed a bit of concern when I wanted to stay at the vigil and play warden commander with my friends.

Yup, the perfect wife ... HOT, RICH, POWERFUL and lets you hang out with your buddies raising heck.

Err...

a) It's Cailan and Anora, not Alistair and Anora. That would be an easy mistake to make, seeing as these fellows look so much alike, except that it's only described in text.

B) It has nothing to do with your ending. It's a souvenir from Cailan and Anora's wedding many years ago.

Am I missing something? Did the snow globe have a little plaque on the bottom that said "Alistair Never Loved You"?

I'm totally seeing Cailan as being filled with red stretchy goo, so when you squeeze him he oozes beads of "blood"
As for crayon colors, y'all forgot Lyrium Blue. :wizard:

I laughed harder at this than I think I should have.

And the same towards the Cailan action figure. :wizard:
