What exploration?
By the way the Mako didn't fail. It was flawed, but had potential, and was dropped by short-sighted developers who rather than listen to the negative feedback to improve it just cut it out entirely.
Nope, the Mako was probably the single worst effort at driving ever made in grim history of gaming. I'm not saying the Mako was bad, I'm saying it was unforgivably terrible and was better for Bioware dragging it out behind the shed and shooting it. If anything, putting it in ME1 was short sighted, ME1 already had mediocre game play, adding the worst driving since ASCII made it look poor.

LOL, the MAKO wasn't even close to being as bad as you people let on. It's kind of funny, because that means either you have absolutely no skill or you're horrendously impatient and prone to hyperbole.
Nope, Tank vs UFO on the VIC20 had better handling than the Mako. Put a thousand gamers in a room who have never played ME and I would bet you'd be hard pressed to find 100 who even found it passable.

you're either a moron or haven't played many games. There are a lot of games were the driving was A LOT worse than the Mako. Period. Especially since the Mako wasn't really bad.

Hyperbole it is, then.

It always comes down to name calling when the kids get out of school.
Played dozens of driving games going back to a Commodore 64, thanks to very broken physics, the Mako was the worst. You may have never driven a vehicle before, but contrary to what ME1 may have made you believe, a car does not immediately rocket 30 feet into the air upon hitting a pebble, and that was on high G worlds. It was just terrible, absolutely terrible. The Hammer Head is by no means perfect but it is a massive upgrade, and I would love to see a similar vehicle in ME3 with planet landings like ME1.

Oh stop whining, if you can't control the Mako, you suck at it, I and a lot of other gamers had no problems with it and I liked the controls. At least it didn't feel like some arcade racer game! HH does and it breaks immersion (even more than all the other crap they implemented in ME2)!

Could we not be creative and give constructive critism instead so that we all can reach consensus on improvments for the hammerhead/mako?
I know that there is not much of constructive things being said in this forum since those who wanna help quickly turn to trolling, but just this thread, lets be constructive and help bioware actually change things to the better, instead of making them fail with replacing the mako with scanning(that we can certainly agree on) :PP
I will start edit the original post with possible improvments for the hammerhead.

Is any one else having an issue with the "Research" in mission one of Firewalkers? I have hovered over, around and right click everything like the help pop up box says to do and I get nothing. Either I am not doing something right or I have missed something. Any clues? FYI I am running a PC with vista if that makes any difference
Reset your keybinds to default. Yes, it doesn't matter if they are already default, you have to re-reset them to default.
Then it'll work.

The same can be said about those hating on the Hammerhead which is a better vehicle in every way.

As much as I loved the Mako in ME 1(where many others hated it), the HH is an improvement no doubt. I'm having loads of fun with these missions, esp the one where you have to kill all the Geth. It gave me thrills when I turbo up the HH and shoot off of a ramp like structure while shooting missles in mid air as I crash into a giant Geth and wrestle with it. It's damn fun to me. I had some fun with the Mako though, but this HH thing is great, and feels better. Could use a bit of tuning though, hope it makes it into ME 3

People on these boards love to b*tch and moan. Haters gonna hate.

Less armaments, less armour, no shields, no HUD, no unique physics makes it better?
That's not even going into the vapidness of the levels and the combat.

Those hating on the Hammerhead's controls, maybe. As you can see I personally said it controlled fairly well.
I think most people hating on the Hammerhead simply feel that the missions are a worthless waste of time (short though that time may be).

The levels are fine. The Mako levels were open but there was sh/t all to do in them and the endless driving over vertical cliff tops is not fun. The HH handles combat great with its guided missles allowing it to fire on the move making combat fast paced while the Mako with its stop to shoot was slow and less exciting.
Go home.

The Hammerhead is actually less maneuverable and flexible.
Yes I suppose it's faster if you include the Wile E. Coyote rocket-in-the-arse booster.

I wish I were trying out the Hammerhead instead of working late. Can you fire it on the move? I used to hate having to stop the Mako to shoot accurately. It felt like a Warsaw Pact tank in that regard.
