I just ran through the Firewalker DLC, and I have a question. The final mission takes you to a Prothean ruin, where you find a large silver sphere. Now, in ME1, there was a similar sphere. You could get a trinket from the Consort on the Citadel, and then you could later activate a sphere using that trinket. Since the spheres seem to be identical, I was wondering if there was any extra dialogue for having found that sphere in ME1. Does anyone know?

Also, on a somewhat unrelated note, why don't people come to Shepard to find out about the Protheans? He's got the Cipher. He is quite literally the foremost expert on the Protheans. He can understand their spoken language, which also means he can probably read their writing, and he's got their entire culture downloaded into his mind. He could walk into a dig site and start calling the entire staff perverts because they happen to be excavating a Prothean adult entertainment store.

1) Extra dialogue? That would require dialogue to begin with. Sorry, but who are you supposed to have this dialogue with? There's no one to talk to in the dlc. Plus, ME2 disregards your choices in ME1.

2) People think you're dead. Then they think you've are a bastard cause you joined Cerebus. You're not exactly mister popularity. Plus, you're not even in Citadel space, and you're running around with thugs and killers. Not exactly wecloming company. Shep only has access to fragments about the Protheans. The only reason he understood Vigil on Illos is because Vigil spoke in his language. Shep cannot understand the Protheans which is proven when he hears it in another part on Illos.

You are incorrect. On Ilos, before you get to Vigil, you have a run-in with a security console that is Prothean. One of your squaddies remarks how they cannot hear what it's saying, but Shepard can

I know there isn't any dialogue on a default Shepard (one that isn't based on an Imported character). I was curious to know if Shepard would say something if that particular quest had been done.

Also, ME2 does not ignore your choices in ME1 if you imported. That's part of the game's whole premise.

That was actually more of a rhetorical question, though I probably should have clarified that.

the only choice it disregards is who you choose for the council...

also, shepherd is the only one to understand the Prothean langauge. The only reason he wasn't able to understand the emergency transmission was because it had degraded so much.

Ok, here's a stupid question, how do I get the research collection to work? I use "Right Mouse" and the camera angle just changes.

you have to keep right button pressed until it "load" the data... the Hammer moves a bit so be sure to stay on top of the circle

The default button for mining is 'V', not right mouse. they screwed up the in-game tutorial. Refer to the keybindings in the game instead.
