I play a 2h warrior which is currently equipped with Wades Superior Dragonbone Armor (whatever wades best set is called) and for weapons I use either the Chasind Great Maul or the Nug Crusher (just because I think it looks better) . Are there any armor sets and 2h weapons in Awakening that are better which I should be looking for? I dont want to be told how to find them I really just want to know what exists so I can be on the lookout

There are armour and weapons yes. The Armour is very obvious after completing Kal'Hirol and there are a number of good 2h weapons. If you start a new 2h you get Orlesian Commander armour and a sword called Wardens reach. I dont know if you can get these with import but i played throught the whole game with them no changes.

I pity the fools who fight with twohanders.

Before one of them could swing his sword once I could stab his ass at least 4 times.

Just saying.

I used Faith's Edge. Unfortunately, Morrigan had my Chasind Great Maul. :\\

Petsura, 2-handers became ridiculously powerful in DA:A. In DA:O I wouldn't even consider using a 2-hander because it was so underpowered. But now with the instant critical hit, shockwave slashes with knockback, stamina-fueled 1-shots, and AoE slashing/instant minor enemy KO, they've really become amazing.

Even if it were true, I can't handle slow weapons.

You could literally drink a coffee while watching your character swing his sword.

It drives me crazy.

I agree. Dual Wielders used to be my fave in Origins but i started one in awakening and it takes like a year to kill a mob now. 2hs are somuch better now.

2-handers were significantly buffed in Awakening. They dish out a lot of damage, and the 2-hand sweep is extremely effective.

Granted, 2-weapons is still far more DPS, while sword and shield is dead last (but can tank anything).

Sword and shield also got a boost. I was quite impressed. :D Those guardian skills are especially helpful. SnS and 2-handers used to be bland. They're quite versatile and exciting now. Might actually play a SnS sometime.

I haven't played on my duel wielding warrior yet, but the 2hander is much more useful this time around. I'm glad that Bioware payed some attention to it in Awakening.

What Awakenings offers 2 handers?

Three momentum runes on a weapon with runeslots = faster swings (people seem to have found they do stack).

And.

Tons of new abilities that mostly seem to involve hitting lots of people at once (two sustained, two activated). Combat realists think the animations for these look silly. The main problem is you'll never ever be fighting large enough groups of adversaries to make these really worthwhile.

My favorite new ability, for those of us who like to stick to killing one thing at a time, is Peon's Plight. It's the Arrow of Slaying for the melee warrior. But all warriors get it, not just 2Hers.

On the other hand -- don't get me going on the new S & S abilities -- I'm not sure I'm getting how Juggernaut is supposed to work, I thought it was like bowlingforferelden. All I can tell is I turn it on, I run towards people, I thought they're supposed to get knocked down or out of the way, but nothing happens. Granted, I'm usually running at them in an open area, not in a tight hallway, maybe it only works if they're not trying to run around you.

Other than Juggernaut, every S & S warrior in A has the same decision they did in O: should I hit the enemy once, twice, three times, or four times with my shield? And a new way of hiding behind their shield like a turtle (Carapace).

I have played the game for a few days, so I have already come to notice all of the great abilities etc that 2Handers get now. As for this thread, I was thinking along the lines of armor and weapons. Thanks for the replies thus far

2H warriors are pretty epic in Awakenings. Vig, some runes, onslaught... you can solo the game on hard. Only the baroness on hard was something I could not solo because of her cheese drain attacks.

If you had a bow you could solo her

You're doing it wrong if you think two handers are weak in the OC. What other class can be immune to knockdown AND stun, none. When tons of enemies are knocking you about as any other class the two hander is still swinging gleefully.

Here is a prime example of a two hander being useful, with good advice on how to set them up. http://social.biowar...66/index/432510

They only got stronger in the expansion. Crits for over 300 regularly, plenty of AoE attacks in the new line in two hand specific and some useful abilities in the warrior line makes you a wrecking machine. Throw in momentum runes and/or haste from a mage and you will be impressed.

They aren't that slow anymore. With Haste + Spirit Warrior sustained + a Momentum rune, you cap out your haste bonus and swing pretty damned fast with auto attacks.

Have you tried Massacre? Area Effect Peon's Plight.

Yeah, the thing is my 2-hander never got hit in the first place. The SnS tank more or less hoarded the enemies so immunity to knockdown and stun is less useful as the only time it will come into play is when an enemy launches an AoE stun or knockdown.

So how does a duel-wielder compare to a 2hander then?

2h Warriors are great in Awakening if u ask me, (possible spoiler) get Wade everything he needs to craft Vigilance, equipt Kings armor from Origins, and get the neck that gives u +25 Fatigue, i ended up with +10 Fatigue chould use any skill and not get stamina drained. And the crits are realy high, u might swing faster as a duel wielder but cant get like 300 dmg in 1 hit. I always prefered 2h warriors tho, and it;s a shame u can't use Blood thirst in Awakening was really usefull in Origins. All i all i'd say ye Awakening offers much for 2h Warriors
