I have been reading about the patch issues and I just wanted to throw this question out there.
My 360 is frequently freezing up at random spots after about 30 mins of gameplay in DA:OA. Is this a common issue people are having? This happened to me occationally in DA:A & ME2 but not nearly as much. What I really want to know is if this a patch issue or is it an issue with my console? Thanks in advance.

I hate to say it...but games "freezing at random" is very commonly a precursor to RRoD. I have had it twice and each time this is was the first thing that would happen.

My 360 is also freezing. It's happening on my girlfriend's account about 5 minutes into the fight with the spectral dragon. Her account has always seemed to find and use every bug in the Dragon Age games while my account hasn't had a single issue with the games.



Anyone have any ideas why? My 360 works fine for any other game, so it shouldn't be any RRoD issue.

I was looking at other parts of the forums and other people have suggested installing the game to the HDD and that doing so has fixed their crashing/freezing issues.

Which didn't work for us...

Though looking at the dragon as little as possible during the fight kept it from freezing.

Yeah, I tried installing to the HD, which didn't seem to improve it either. I had the RRoD about a year ago and had it repaired. System is well vented and only freezes on DA/ME games. This is why I can't decide if its just a bug issue or if my system is really dying.

Also, I tried playing with no HD at all - no effect.

This may sound odd and is only a theory Hammer, but if your system is connected to Xbox Live unplug it. Leave it off for a bit then turn it back on and try playing Awakening then.

I'll give it a shot PC, curious though to the theory behind it?

Me and my cousin thought that somehow it might be a conflict with something on Live or even with the fact that Awakenings can also be purchased as a DLC. It worked for a bit for us, then it went back to freezing regularly on us while loading. So at this point I haven't even gotten to touch Awakenings while my cousin has managed to play it for an hour with no problems.



At this rate I'm getting to the point where it just seems like I'd be better off just downloading the DLC version as the disc version apparently keeps freezing at random and then transfers the problems to Origins. Seems they really did do a rush job on Awakening and it's annoying as I've had no problems before.

Well, you're not alone. I've gotten several freezes in Dragon Age in the last couple days, and I haven't even put my Awakenings disk in yet. ME2 also froze on me a couple times, and that one is installed to hard drive.



Pretty sure its not my xbox though, as it ONLY happens on these 2 games....that are from the same company.....

I just downloaded the Awakenings DLC today and it's frozen 5 times during a certain boss fight. I'm 3 hours into the game and this is the first problem. I guess I'll try it on my other console even though everything's already downloaded on this one. Grr

I downloaded all of the DLC to another 360 and the same thing is happening. Not a happy camper

I've had numerous freezes throughout Origins but if I hard boot the xbox I can usually play through where it froze before, frustration none the less as sometimes I've lost hours of game play having to reboot it...except for the battle with the Arch Demon....it freezes at different points with different characters every single time I can't shut off my xbox or anything but a hard boot and it usually happens when I've just about beat him....very very frustration Ive installed to my hd and everything nothing has any effect...I don't know what the RRod everyone refers to is but this is the only game

I've ever had this issue with so I don't think it's my xbox...I hope Bioware is extra careful pressing DA2 because I"m not gonna drop any coin on it till I see if it has multiple freezing issues too
