There's room in the cargo bay...

At this point, given the arcadyness of the Hammerhead, who would say yes to DLC where you go and grab that Mako from the Normandy crash site and tool around on exploration missions, ME1 style (with improvements, of course).
I'd say yes. Hell I'd pay for it.

The Hammerhead and Mako are 2 very different veichles, so there's definately room for them both in the game.

I think BioWare's trying to gauge the reaction to the Hammerhead right now before they decide on other vehicles. The Angry One wrote...

If the reaction is bad, they'll probably do away with ground vehicle combat entirely for Mass Effect 3.

For entirely the wrong reasons, I fear.

So far, I'm indifferent about the hammerhead. On one hand the controls are simplistic and easy to use. The vehicle performs smoothly and there weren't any hiccups I could see. On the other hand, the missions were short and the combat was a little disappointing. The missiles are too weak and enemies are way too tough with their perfect aim, making my life on insanity a nightmare. Only way I was able to beat the combat missions was by cheating and firing from a safe distance.
Verdict: Success in some areas, needs refinement in others.

Hope they don't, with some patching and appropriate level design, the HH could be a fairly fun vehicle.

Who knows, maybe the extra space can be for a smaller Normandy stealth drone for real-time aerial combat. The Angry One wrote...

This isn't to disparage or replace the Hammerhead.
Just a possiblity that the extra room in the bay could hold another vehicle that will fill a role the Hammerhead does not do.

I misformulated that. I meant that they shouldn't do away with ground combat even if they keep only the HH, though I too hope for another vehicle (fighter or gunship, perhaps?).

Perhaps a vehicle with a machine gun? One could only hope.
This is my only real complaint about the Hammerhaed itself, no Coaxial mounted machine gun.

But then the cargo bay would be too cluttered for all the wild parties the crew has while Shepard's asleep.

Mine would be that combined with the homing rockets. I'll take good old shells with easier aiming over auto lock-on missiles. I prefer actually hitting the target I'm aiming for instead of the one right next to it.

If the hammerhead were some how intergrated into the main storyline, or even had any story to it, it wouldnt be so hated, Yeah the mako had its problems but i liked it because of its use in main story.

Yes, the hammerhead was not all it could be, but how about giving us access to our own darn ship to make up for it.

What I am curious about is how on earth does anyone get down to the cargo level? After all the elevator does not go down that far. Even with the Hammerhead, we still don't have access to that level.

Yes for 5 minutes, There surely must be a transporter I am not aware of, before they got down there. LOL

I loved the Mako! Bring back the Mako!
Its been replaced with the Hammerhead., which has better handling and lock on missiles.
