I mean seriously bioware how did you manage to even write such an idiotic character that makes no sense in any way at all

I've seen some pretty bad RPG characters.

That is very true. I disliked Ashely Williams in ME but I think she was by far the best written character because she got such a strong reaction from me.Xandurpein wrote...
Even if you detest her doesn't mean she's a bad character. A bad character are those you forget about.

I quite liked her. With the elves history of enslavement etc being what it was I am surprised such a character was not written into the original game. However one problem is that her banter doesn't seem to change in line with her personality.
Agreed. A Dalish mage was way overdue. It would have been nice if you could have chosen to play a mage out of the Dalish origin... just so you didn't have to do the same circle of magi origin every time you wanted a mage.

She's a bad character because her motivation to join is that the darkspawn killed her family or tribe, whatever, and then when she gets into the keep she hardly mentions it at all and just whines about humans all the time. And the only one who is bothered by her killings seems to be Justice, all of the male party members just drool over her boobies.
I think they just took what they thought people liked about Morrigan and made a half-ass attempt at making a 2.0 version of her
And you can't make her answer for her crimes in any other way than just killing her when you meet her, seriously, she's a mass murderer
Even Morrigan could be confronted about her issues and it was done well

I don't think this is true. I can't recall the exact conversations but I seem to recall both Nathaniel and Anders having discussions involving morality with her.TheSleazebag wrote...

She comes across as irrational even after you finish her personal quest. No redemption I don't think. However, I still enjoyed interacting with her. She's not quite as easy to dissect as the other companions, which makes her a challenge to befriend and that's always fun.
If you have her and Justice in your party, he eventually convinces her that she should redeem herself by telling humans about the Dalish.

She struck me as a fairly generic, Dalish/human hater. I found Nathaniel and Justice far more compelling characters. I wish those two had been saved for a game with wider scope to fully realize their potential.
I agree about the generic concept, but I quite liked the way she was realised. The conversation about the diary, for instance - that was good. And I liked the eerie scenes with her ghoulified sister. Some of the stuff about her felt like it could have been copy/pasted from any fantasy RPG from the last ten years (NWN2 and The Witcher, particularly), but when the game took the time to individualise her, she was okay.
