There's nothing wrong with levity and I think storytellers that know when to use it are better than one's that just hit you with DARKDARKDARKDARK over and over again.

EYAH AWAKENINGS WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Seriously they need to cut out the epilogues on future Dragon Age games.

Another one and I may need to call an ambulance in preparation of my suicide attempt. :(

No there's not only "so much you can do" you can do absolutely anything, including but not limited to hiring writers that are actually really great and creative.

Play KOTOR, that had a better story then star wars episode 1,2 and 3..........

Not to mention 4, 5, and 6. =p

Hey new hope and empire strikes back where epic!!!!!! Fantastic stories and characters, too bad return of the jedi was not half as good. I hope Bioware does not say ME3 will be the return of the Jedi of video games, I won't even bu ythe game.

The Presidium Groundskeeper is just as awesome as Lilihierax though!

There are quite a few funny and/or likeable NPCs in Mass Effect 2 - they mostly happen to be Krogan or Turian.

True, I'll give you that.

My favorites are the two Krogan in the Citadel who, after finding out that there are in fact no fish on the presidium, one says to the other, something like "Why don't you go punch a turian, that always makes you feel better"

I don't know if I should say it, but I think it's kind of cute to see a Krogan act all sad like that.

They should make stuffed toy Krogan - teddy Krogan!

If you listen to them, one of them says he heard a Urdnot went up to the Pressuim once. I wonder who they are talking about............

Comparing a story that's really great as far as video games go to the worst cinematic blunder in history doesn't help your case. I mean honestly, I could crap better screenplays than George Lucas wrote for the prequels.

KOTOR is still a step above most video games, but lets not be silly. Your average telletubies episode has a better script than the Star Wars prequels.

Pleese don't say that, I remember when I was at the theater when it came out and when the Ewoks started to fight, the whole room groaned.

They could have saved that scene if the Empire had just completely wiped them out then and there with a barrage of blaster fire.

*Sigh.

What upsets me is the Luke/Vader/Emperor confrontation is very good and the battle of Endor is awesome. But to get to it, you need to... suffer.

Whoa whoa, don't get me wrong! I love the original trilogy...and Episode III (I do, honestly). But just comparing them to Kotor...let's just say I liked the game's characters better and  still remember fondly the first time I wet my pants on the Leviathan after I found out...the 'truth'.

And I'd find it hilarious if Bioware would do an Ewok cameo as a hats off to Episode VI.

If you've ever seen redlettermedia's youtube review of the Phantom Menace the last part has video in which Lucas sees the movie and realizes he's ****ed up.

Episode 3 was the only good one and that was because of the epic battle between Vadar and Obi.

This honestly was what saved Episode VI for me. It needed some redeeming feature.

Edit: And yeah, that youtube vid is the ****. Best part is where it flashes to that image of him giving Lucas the finger, haha.

A lot of people say that about many of the blockbuster movies that are released, though.

Are you saying that the gaming industry is devoid of good writers or that BioWare doesn't hire any? Either way, that doesn't bode well for the current trend of blockbuster games.

Bioware has already fabricated a pretty freakin huge universe for ME, the problem with blockbuster movie expanding is any hired writers are either too lazy or cautious to create new material. Where the ME universe has plenty of it, noticed it midway through ME1 when i decided that there is no way that they would focus this much detail into just an installment, or two, or three, but MANY to come.
but please, i don't want the literal tons of unmonitored expanded universe like SW, that kind of crap will run this beautiful series dry.

That, and the dramatic galactic scale slaughter of the Jedi, that was also good, but agree, episode one and two were serious mistakes.

The admiral was the best. When I was in the Collector ship and we find out it's a trap I qouted that good man.

Admiral Ackbar: It's a trap!

order 66 was very well done, but realy you had to suffer through out the movie to get to the good parts. Episode 1 and 2 where just piles of crap baked over easy and left to dry.
