Unfortunately, that made sense. Now I'm depressed :CEcael wrote...
They'll improve "RPG elements" in ME3 about as much as Liara, Ashley and Kaidan played "an important role in ME2".
1. BioWare was originally developing Mass Effect 1 for the PC, and all its gameplay/menu options were tailored for it.
2. Microsoft, their former publisher, paid them to gain exclusivity for the XBox 360 instead of the PC.
3. Mass Effect 1 is released for XBox 360 in 2007 exclusively at first, but plays like a PC RPG game.
4. Electronic Arts buys BioWare in 2008 and has Demiurge Studios develop Mass Effect for the PC (finally).
5. Mass Effect 2 is released for both XBox and PC, but plays like an XBox 360 shooter game.
6. All gaming companies, including EA, now believe in marketing for console games due to the prevalent piracy issues on PC.
7. Therefore, Mass Effect 3 will be focused on catering to the XBox 360.
There. I called it. Mass Effect 2 and 3 are designed solely for the XBox to be ported over to the PC. Unless you can refute any step in that list, then it's not just wishful thinking - it's what Mass Effect 3 is going to be.

Amazing. You, by far, are the most worthless poster on this forum. Instead of coming up with a retort you make up more insults to 'defend your point'. At least other people put up some kind of counterpoint, but you sit back and believe you're right when you've added nothing to the discussion.
Continue insulting me, though. It'll just mean I'm the one who's actually correct, since you don't even care to correct me. Or you could try dismantling the argument I just made - I doubt you will even bother, though.
What point? What argument? All I had to respond to was the arrogant assumptions of a deluded roleplaying forum poster.
Its rich you accuse me of adding nothing to the discussion, when all you did was type "Here are my thoughts on how ME3 will go down, and if you dont like it, leave".
Those who live in glass houses or post on forums under a ridiculous fictional character persona shouldnt throw stones or make accusations of not deconstructing an argument.
In short: youre a whiny, deluded hypocrite.
Honestly guys, all of this because ME2 got criticised. You expecting Bioware to mail you flowers, despite all your constant hate and trolling of ME1? (oh the irony)

I loved both games, but agree that ME1 just had that something that made it more fun. Here's to hoping ME3 is a perfect combination of both

I like 'em both. I tend to have more fun in ME2 due to the streamlined combat, lack of inventory and better roleplaying options, though.

ME2 is a shooter-RPG, do I have to say it again. It's going to play like a shooter. No one is forcing you to play ME2 or 3 for that matter. Just go to the ME forum and talk about the awful inventory system and the subpar combat.
ME1 was a shooter-RPG.
ME2 is a shooter, with streamlined and dumbed down RPG residue tacked on as an afterthought.
You should read Christina Normans GDC presentation where they admit to making a shooter first, and adding rpg elements afterwards.
I relied much more on my powers as a sentinel in ME1. As an adept and sentinel in ME2, I relied on my weapons and taking cover, as if I was playing Gears of War.
You might not care, but dont whine to me because I do. I expected better, and I want to be able to focus less on cover based third person shooting in ME3. As long as I can do that, I dont care how much shooter gameplay is part of the "balance". Just so long as it isnt forced on me, and doesnt ruin other areas of the game.
Because heven forbid in a shooting game you have to tak cover and shoot your gun! Shooting is not forced onto you, it's part of the gameplay. ME2 was an RPG, it had
-create a custom character
-had new intresting characters to interect with
-they upgraded the dialog system with interupts
-the game is still focused on the story
-you level up and upgrade your partys powers
-you get exp
-you can upgrade your characters through out the game
-you can make choices that change how the game plays
Thats just like ME and almost any other Bioware game.

How am I bozo? Is it because I perfered ME2 then ME because the gameplay was alot better and the characters where more intresting? Or is it because us fans of ME2 can argue with facts for ME2 while you resort to insults and diss ME2? Thats what a troll does, and you sir are a troll.

I was able to crank up to insanity before the end of my first playthrough. Little did I know doing so would nullify biotics and make ducking behind cover for 90% of combat an absolutel necessity.
-I found the interaction with the new squadmates lacking for many of them. If not for a few gems, I would have been dissatisfied with the whole lot.
-The interrupts are good. The only criticism I have is a bias towards renegade.
-Party powers have been stripped down in an effort to make them "more unique". This just made them weaker and less fun to use for me.
-Exp has been relegated to a "mission complete" furthering the "shooter focus". The mission complete screen was also a total insult, and I hope its gone in ME3. It totally sucked.
-You can unlock a bonus power for characters, and they benefit from minor stat increases (woohoo, something ME1 gets criticised for, but ME2 gets off scot free for)
-No you cant. You can alter the tone and occasionally slightly alter the outcome of certain events. Thats all.
