It was Hollow to say the least.

Lonely and Hollow!!

The bugs, the length and the price were a big deal to me afterwards...

I know the romances in origins where fun but i dotn think it would of worked well in akweining to busy getting killed off buy bugs and otherthings which i wont mention because it be a spoiler....

I personally found it boring but it was ok for a hack and slash game if u play it right after u finish origins it kinda mergs the games together a tiny bit

Agreed opn both ends romances would have been cool but it needed to be a lot longer for that. I really missed my Alistair and Zevran though. Missed all my old buddies and I did not like that we could not talk to our new companions anytime we wanted. It missed that closeness that you get in Origins. Definately to many bugs and way to short. For all the high grade armor, weapons and specs you get you barely have time to utlize them properly. Ending was a bit of shock and was more pissed than impressed. Kinda like leaping off a cliff expecting to hit 6 foot deep water and you only hit 2 feet. Be nice if you character is queen or mistress that you could see a split scened returning to either Alistair or whoever you are hooked up with in general. Fun but could have been improved upon greatly.

I thought it was fun, but the lack of Origins companions (other than the dreadful Oghren) and absence of romances made it a lot less fun than it should have been. I enjoyed the gameplay but overall it felt sort of hollow.

Buy it after bioware decides to fix the embarrising amount of game breaking bugs on it.

Alright, me again, I bought it like I said I would, and played through first as an Orlesian Warden, so with first hand experience I present the following.

Yes, the game is short, after seeing where I need to go, and I think I know where everything goes, I beat it in 16 hours. Not bad for an Expansion, I used Oghren as a Tank, Anders as a Healer., Nathanial is an Archer and my Warden was a DW Warrior. I really enjoyed the character interaction, as little as there was. It wasn't a "Sit and Grind Affection in Camp" thing, no. You brought your members around on your journey, and you found things that caught there eye and they related to them and told you a bit about there thoughts. It was a different handle on it, but one I really enjoyed.

Now, bugs I found, one was when I wouldn't have party members with me, I'd do a certain action and lose some approval from this, now it makes sense that because we're a small group of warriors that they'll know what I did regardless, but in Origins this didn't happen, so again it may be a new outlook on things. Either way, it didn't bug me, and I liked it, but I'm not sure if it was intentional.

I also didn't run into any bugs from Sigrun or the Elf Mage, but I did get 100% Approval with Justice, not that I cared since he was the last person I grabbed and gave me close to Max with everyone anyways. Also, the Sentinel Armor Graphic looked weird since it reminded me of the Warden Commander Armor, except the Helmet. I didn't mind so much though because in the end it ended up going on Oghren since my Warden had the White Steel set from Sigrun's Zone.

Another bug seemed to be with the Orfan quests, I didn't really get much closure or really meet any of them, I was expecting it but again, may not be a bug.

As a whole, I still really enjoyed Awakening and I'm carrying my Warrior over now, the character, story and plot is sill pretty solid, and while yes, Origin is still better, if you liked Origins I suggest you try this game out for yourself instead of relying on Reviews. It's still a very nice game to play, and insanely fun.

Now that I think about it Awakenings was pretty disappointing. As others have said it felt very hollow to me. There was no emotional investment in characters and there was no imersion(in part due to bugs). The new dialogue system was fail in my opinion.

I dont know, maybe its because I have played through it a couple of times now and its so meh. I had a higher opinion of it my first playthrough. Or maybe Im just grumpy and need to go to bed. >.>
