Hi-ho.
I have a perfectly normal at-spec PC running the Steam version of ME2 just fine with Win XP.
Since I downloaded the Firewalker mission pack, whenever I am in game, no matter where or what I'm doing (well, except in cutscenes) - if I have control of Shepard, the minimap in the bottom left corner constantly pops on and off up, ever so slightly, making a super-annoying "zheep zheep zheep" noise, all the time.
At the moment I'm just turning the sound off, but that's a temporary fix, right? I'd hate to use up one of my reinstalls.

Ah, well - if you have the same problem with a steam version of the game, just launch the launcher and make sure steam isn't running in a window. Solved it for me.

Oddly enough, the issue appears to have worked itself out. Still not sure how, but I am at least happy I can once again resume playing the game.
