I can't seem to find this exact issue in here, though many that are similar, but I'm finding similar ones all over the internet, but none of them seem to have an accompanying solution.

When SQL 2005 attempts to install, it displays an error message saying that a .dll failed to load. I've cleaned/fixed my registery numerous times, and visually verified the .dll files are there, it still occurs. Now, it's DTCPRX.dll, which so far as I know, doesn't actually exist (meaning no registry cleaner I can find so much as looks for it, and a google search on the file turns up nothing).

After the failed to load .dll error, I get a seperate error box saying SqlSpars.dll failed as well, then a Microsoft error reporting pop up.

The toolset appears to install properly but will not start on account of SQL not running.

I have attempted to install SQL via Bioware's installer and downloading the installer directly from Microsoft's website. Same result from each.

Any ideas/solutions would be appreciated.

What is the exact error message that you get, word for word.

Also there is a msdtcprx.dll is the system32 folder.

I know. It doesn't say "msdtcprx.dll", it says "dtcprx.dll", and the error did not have an ms at the beginning.

Anyways I replaced the file and SQL installed, but I still can't open the toolset.

"Unable to connect to the database.

Run the toolset configuration utility and verify your settings or search the toolset wiki http://social.biowar.../wiki/datoolset to help with this issue.

This toolset must exit now"

"OK" being the only option.

Is this that 52 character path issue?
