 Dear Bioware,

How do I prove to you that I am not a criminal? More importantly, how do I prove it to your computers? You see, my X-box 360 recently received the fabled red ring of death. I had to replace it. Now, every time I try to play any of your games in which I've bought downloadable content I get a message saying that it's corrupt and that I cannot use so-and-so character. The only way I've discovered to avoid this is to be constantly plugged into the internet. Unfortunately, that is not possible for me to do. I would be very grateful if you could show me a way to be able to play my rightfully purchased (collector's edition) games along with my rightfully purchased DLC. Any help would be very appreciated. Very very very appreciated. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you how frustrating it is to not be able to use what you've paid for.

Here's hoping for a speedy answer.

-Tristan

This sounds like a problem most people had with their DLC. Did you download any packs? For example, the collectors edition comes with a pack of items. There is a topic out there that tells you how to deal with that. Basically, when you download one item in the pack you download the other items belonging to that pack automatically, but you don't have the rights to them. The solution is to delete it off of your hard drive then download the item you do not have the rights for, then repeat until you have individually downloaded every item belonging to the pack.

If you do some research you should be able to find the topic where people lists all the items belonging to a pack. If someone doesn't post it for you in this topic.

Have you recovered your gamertag to the new console?

I am using the same account on my new console as I did on my old one. Everythings works fine as long as I'm connected. About the other topic, my DLC worked fine until I changed consoles. I don't think it's the same problem. Similar but not the same, and I'm not willing to try deleting all of my DLC unless I know that I won't have to pay for it again.

But did you go through the process of actively recovering your gamertag?

You can sign into the account from a new console, but the DLC remembers the console it was originally downloaded to. I think. When you recover your gamertag, it makes the new console your gamertag's home.

I really don't know how to explain it, actually. So let me write this: if you've just been signing into your account, try signing out of it, and then try following the steps to recover your gamertag. See if that works.

In addition to the gamertag suggestion, which could certainly help, the thread mentioned before about re-downloading everything to acquire the digital rights to use it offline is here:

Use it well my son.

Edit: Also, see the very last post of that thread about migrating licenses. That might be the problem as well. It's all related anyway.

Wolvenrunner, it shouldn't be an issue? If I remember correctly, the pack items are generally the problems that cause this, and those a free. They're just codes you input to unlock them. Anything you download is linked to your gamertag, whether you paid for it or not, and will never make you pay for it again. You should be able to delete it and redownload any item as many times as you like, no one should make you pay for anything. I've done this multiple times with arcade games, I had the same problem in the other topic and was able to do what they suggested just fine without having to re-buy anything. I haven't played dragon age on another console, but I have switched consoled and games I had deleted off of my hard drive on my old console I was still able to re-download for free off of my new one.

OK. Glad to hear it. I'll see if I can figure out the gamertag thing, and I'll also try redownloading. Thanks for the tips. I'll post back here after I've spent some time on it, and let you know how it went!

You need to migrate your licenses. Pretty sure I mentioned that way back when.

That's the US site. I don't know if you'll need to find the one for your region but that one should work.
