It's interesting how very different opinions can be...
I love(d) exploring the planets in the Mako, I actually think the maps are ok, even though not *all* should be full of really steep hills, as the planets should be in different geological (sp?) ages. I never, ever, have gone stuck anywhere, but several times I had to rethink my approach, not being able to follow the way I first thought would work and read the map. This is a good thing to me - keeps me awake. The handling/steering was no problem at all, took me probably around 5 sec to get it (mostly) right. (I'm on a PC, if that's makes a difference.)
I especially loved the way the Mako was able to bounce around in low-g (even if it probably was not very realistic at times), I wish the g-factor effected the handling more though. On a fun note - the other day I managed to do a full backflip, and land on all six without damage.
I did not enjoy as much the planets where you could only follow one track - way too linear for this type of game imho, but it was ok, and understandable from the game designer wiewpoint.
The scanning for resources in ME2 makes absolutely no sense to me. I'm in the most advanced warship in the known universe, with an illegal fully functional AI and full human crew, and *I*, the commanding officer, must sit and sweep a sensor slowly across the planet? Seriously?
Will play the Hammerhead pack now, but judging from the comments on this board, I might not like it as much as I hoped...
