I don't know why you reduce the question to the game being an RPG or not. That definition doesn't even matter as far as the main complaints from the OP are concerned (that I mostly share, except for the graphics part, those are of course perfect on PC at least).
His main complaints are nitpicking nothing really valid or a fact. "SOUND TRACK IS NOT HIGH BUDGET LOL" he sure likes to talk out of his ass that's p sure

Different people enjoy different aspects of games. It is impossible to please everyone all the time. Sometimes you will agree with our decisions and love the game we release, sometimes you won't. Is it impossible for us to predict what you as an individual will and won't enjoy, and it is a little misguided to believe that a) we can cater our games to individual gamers' tastes and preferences, and
I'm sorry you don't feel ME2 was as good as ME1. Perhaps you will like future products better.

ME2 is a mediocre, dumbed-down mass-appeal title designed to rake in cash.

Good post. I agree with you. But it's too late for your plea, unfortunately. EA owns BioWare, and there's nothing the developers could do. EA is not "evil", but they are only there to make money. That means that release dates are enforced, as well as changes to appeal to a broader audience. Both are probably the main reasons for your complaints. People like you, who expect more and better, are deemed acceptable losses in comparison to increased sales to casual gamers and shooter fans. It's unfortunate, and it remains to be seen if this calculation will hold true, but right now it is how it is.

you know these whiney people blame bioware but the fact is its e.a thats charging for the dlc not bioware... put it like this if ea bought rock* and got gta i bet we would see the same thing except ea has more controll over the dlc part. if anyone should be critisized its ea NOT BIOWARE. i love both mass effect games and seriously for the op to say this game is like phantom menace to me hes just a troll and btw if i had to label mass 2 to a star wars film it would be revenge of the sith since that really was the only good film from the new trilogy

Is there a forum rule about posting the same thing thats been posted god knows how many times before? Because if there is then the OP has broken it. I also think there should be a rule against anyone claiming their opinion is the majority when its clearly not.

i'm hoping ME2 was sort of an experimental direction from BW. They wanted to do a few things different, and here we are giving feedback. I think/hope ME3 will be a combination of the best aspects from both ME1 and 2. ME2 felt a little too rushed in some parts, and the middle part the player tends to get the player lost in all the character missions.
Balance for the third game will wrap everything up nicely, imo.

Actually, i'm not sure if there's a rule, but indeed it's commonly known that threads usually get locked if they are identical to already existing ones... unless the existing ones are dead for a while already
Anyway, i agree that this thread was not really necessary...

While I definitely prefer ME1 to ME2, I'm not going to bash ME2, because it was a pretty decent game. There are plenty of things I miss from ME1, but the improvements to combat (in general) made the action parts more enjoyable. Me1 feels much more like an rpg, and ME2 feels like those parts were skimped somewhat. Yes, skimped, not completely done away with.
I agree. If ME2 was awful I wouldn't have played through it a second time. Still, I will not play and complete ME2 as much as I played and completed ME1 (about 14 times in one year). None of the individual missions in ME2 are horrible or tedious (like Noveria in ME1...uuugh!) but the game as a whole just seems a bit tedious for me to get through and I really have no more desire to play right now after beating it this second time.

Are you expecting perfection in terms of your personal interests in what Bioware should have delivered in ME2?
You said ME1 was a masterpiece. A laundry list of complaints can be made about ME1 also or any other game for that matter.
I think constructive criticism is good, but I think some members are being a little too selfish. I also think that one should not expect and then complain that a game doesn't match every facet of their own personal opinion of what it should entail.
Bioware is not perfect.

I sure hope you're right about the experimental direction. Maybe ME2 was Bioware's one huge push for mass-market appeal. Hook as many new players as they can, while keeping the loyal fans, if not happy, then at least not completely disgusted. They obviously succeeded with the former, not so sure with the latter.Shavon wrote...
