Anyone know what's up with that? Is there backstory I missed? There doesn't seem to be any quest associated with it, but it's really odd if it.s just 'flavor'.

I've got a pretty dark sense of humor, and I found many of the side-quests/points of interest in Awakening to be inexplicably depressing.

I did rather wonder what happens to 'clean' adulterers, it's true.

As far as I can tell, it's just flavor. There's a lot of bad romance things going on in Awakening: Justice/Kristoff/Aura, Alma/Karren, the Warden whose wife is cheating on him, the quest in Blackmarsh and, of course, Oghren.

I've been thinking of them as 'pointlessly depressing.' I thought it might be leading to something, but apparently not. It's just sad and depressing for no real reason. It's odd that it's so focused on lost love, suicide, and adultery, and really don't get what it was supposed to add to the gaming experience, but there ya go.

I thought it had something to do with the Trail of Love quest in the Black Marsh. At the last clue of the quest, it says "Go to the lake where we started our affair". But I may be taking the "affair" part the wrong way.
No, in the lake you find out that the whole thing was an elaborate marriage proposal but he chose poorly for the first clue so she left.
At least Delilah seemed happy.

Maybe its foreshadowing the PC's romance for the next expansion/sequel. Yea i found those quests depressing too. Though at least with Kristoff/Aura she found closure for her husband. I just wanted to ****slap Alma. Reminds me too much of how things are with people whose jobs take them out of town (Like truckers and soldiers). Takes a special person to be a Navy/Army/Trucker's Wife and she SO failed to measure up.

Yeah. That's why most of us play video games, to be reminded of how much life sucks. Really, why not add someone beating a woman we couldn't help, or kicking the crap out of a puppy? Ah, good times....

There aren't sufficient words to describe how angry I was to see that stereotype perpetuated in the game. I AM a soldier's wife, and I'm sick to death of tv and video games perpetuating a stereotype that the majority of us are not guilty of. Show some supportive wives for a change ya know?
