Working on it. Going away on vacation halted me, and I'm trying to do military based stuff properly. Pesky details.

Need help with that? Can offer some
Xandurpein is helping me atm, which I greatly appreciate. My dumb ass keeps forgetting to thank him. At the moment, the military stuff isn't huge so I think I'm okay. It's probably going to get more complicated later on and I might need more help there. If I do, I will certainly pick your brain. Thank you for the offer.

I apologize for the long delay. You probably would have had this sooner if real life and vacation hadn't interfered. he next chapter will not take me as long, you have my word.

Poor, poor Alistair! Why do you do this to him?
I haven't read a whole lot of fan fics but, this is by far my favorite. Your characters are spot on and you do a great job at conveying thier emotions. You are a very talented writer. Can't wait for the next chapter!

Out of Character on so many levels.

Edit: This is not to say I don't value your opinion, because I do. I don't mean to come across as a b!tch or anything. But the Alistair is my story is not the same as in-game Alistair. This is what I project him to be in the future and that's something we can't ever know. I respect that you think it's OOC, but I ask that you keep in mind that he's older, wiser, more mature and, most importantly, no longer the same as he was if he abandons Ferelden.

He only regrets if he is unhardened, if he is hardened then he does not regret his actions at the Landsmeet. I also very much doubt that the man who was willing to give his own soul for the woman he loves change from that. If you leave him at the Gates and do the US then he leaves Fereldan even if he is crowned.
So while I MIGHT think Alistair would do that kind of choice, I think you made him take it too lightly. For him there wasn't even the consideration of accepting Osric's offer ( and that's the most OC part in that whole chapter ). The decision is made since he opens the letter. It only takes minutes for him and Fergus to talk and then they are back in the war council?

It's been about 5 years, I think. And exile!Alistair does regret his decision to leave, going by what DG said. If he added that only unhardened Alistair regretted it, I missed it somehow. And if Alistair is king, he doesn't leave if you do the US. That's only GW Alistair.
Hmmm. Too fast? Maybe. I can see where you're coming from on that. Alistair has always seemed more of a snap judgement type of person to me, very quickly approaching an answer or conclusion. He read the situation very quickly and knows he can't do what Osric wants. And deciding quickly is not necessarily taking things lightly. It would have taken him longer without Fergus.
Edit: Also, please don't ever feel like I don't want your opinions/input. I like defending my decisions (usually) and times when I can't indicates that I need to change something. I also appreciate the fact that you continue to read, even though I'm sure some of the things I do irritate you to no end. So thanks.

You can't imagine how much. "chuckle." Though seriously I read a story even though I do not necessarily agree with the choices an author makes ( Eddard Stark's death in a song of Ice and Fire for example ) as long as it is a good story.
.....if only I had someone to criticize my choices in my FF.

Oh, I know. *grins* But we all see characters differently, and we write from different perspectives and towards different audiences.

And I shall take that to mean you think my story is at least passable.

It is...though I do not understand what you were trying to say in the first line.
