And the first line was my expressing my rage and displeasure at the Ned Stark thing in the books. LADY D ANGRY! LADY D SMASH!

I was not sad to see him die. He was an idiot, from all the stupid things he did 3 stand forward.

1) Going to Cersei and telling her he knew about her sons.
2) Refusing Renly's offer to grab 200 swordsmen and kill everyone against him.
3) Refusing Littlefinger's offer that he stand behind the Lannister boy.

However...the way he died, with his daughter ( idiotic as she was ) there, and everyone expecting him to be sent to take the Black is well....let's just say it reminds me of Loghain's death, and you know how I view THAT.

Sansa is a even bigger fool, as is Catelyn ( seriously? Releasing Jaime, seriously?...and even Robb by marrying that girl ( though Robb is perhaps the most competent of the Starks ).

I will start laughing when Daenerys crosses the sea and the Arryns join her and slaughters every Lannister in the land.

P.S. I suppose it would be too much to ask for an opinion on my FF?

Let me add, Tyrion, that dude rocks... Jon Snow is also not too bad, though a bit of a prototype hero... I love poor Brianne because she is just out of place everywhere and yet tries to do the right thing. Jaime, the new Jaime, also rocks, it was one of the best volte faces in the book to suddenly see the assassination of Aneyres Teargarden from Jaime's POV...

Anywho, nice chapter. I too initially rolled my eyes at the thought of Alistair so utterly rejecting the idea of betraying Ferelden. But after thinking it throught, I believe that these are different circumstances than in the game (both landmseet and US).

It was clear rom the start that Alistair had changed (became slightly more tolerable for me ).  So I do believe that Alistair *might* do that and at the end, it's up to the author to decide. I for one will not claim to know more about Alistair than the high priestess herself.

Hah, yes! Daenerys is my favorite character....and possibly the one who scares me. Once Tyrion and Varys join her ( just my hope that they will ) she shall drown Westeros in a sea of blood.

Arghhh! I only started reading this last night and have read up to Chapter 36 but chapters 37-41 inclusive are missing on fanfic - any links to them get a fanfiction.net error. Help!

Yeah, ff.net has been buggy as hell the last day or two. Give it some time and keep checking is about all I can tell you. It's not like I delete the chapters, so I can always reuplaod if it becomes necessary, but the problem should clear up.

Ok, fanfic has played nice and given me Chs 37 & 38, but then threw another hissy fit so I'm stalled again. But wow, the change in intensity in 37& 38 is excellent.

I will admit I wasn't really that engaged early on in the story, it felt bland and I did cringe at them having twins, a perfect boy and a perfect girl ! A bit too much sugar for me. But now this is getting really interesting and opening up all sorts of intriguing possibilities. Looking forward to reading more again soon. Come on fanfic, get your A into Gear!

ETA: ok, all caught up !   This is maturing beautifully and Iove your attention to detail - the balance feels just about right.  Not so much that the read is a struggle, but enough that it feels like a real world.  Also, your characters are realistic.  For example, love that you didn't make Anora fall for being a dumb pawn of Osric's. Thank you Lady D.

To be fair, I look at the earlier stuff and cringe. Ah well. Perhaps, one day, I shall go back a fix some of it. And the beginning is fluffier because I knew what was coming. I was trying to compensate a bit, I think.

Alright, as you well know I don't have any love for Alistair centric parts where he is king ( not to read that I hate Alistair parts mind you ).



So yeah, I will go on about your strategy. Seems to me that Alistair abandoned the west? If so then if Fergus is moving troops up North to block the bottleneck that we see on that map ( I am assuming that is what he is doing ) then Osric could take the road from Redcliff north and smash into Fergus's flank while a number of his troops attack Fergus's men at the chokcepoint.



Also, Osric could potentialy close all access to the Circle Tower if he wanted. And I wouldn't discount the possibility of Orlais also having Light Cavalry beyond it's Heavy Cavalry, but still reasonable numbers in the Orlesian Army I think. Similar to what I imagined a Legion would be.



One last thing regarding the Dalish, they are light troops which would be used best not in a pitched fight but to harass Osric's supply train, he does have a long one all the way from Orlais doesn't he?
