Cheesy as it may be, I'm sure most people would like to hear it.

Just kidding but truthfully I think that they are relatively shallow relationships given the writing and time constraints of the game.

Zaeed's and Grunt's reactions coming from a male Shepard would be hilarious.

Personally, we should be able to tell that to anyone aboard the Normandy, just to see their reaction.

Maybe but it is one of those things that people like to hear.....eventually there would come a time where the person would wonder why the words were never said. JMObushes289 wrote...
No god no, please no. I love you is so bleh and fake and awful. But I suppose it's personal opionion, I would never tell a boyfriend or husband that I love them, it just sounds so fake. The more you say it, love should speak through actions not words.

My guy and I have been together a little over 4 and a half years and not one day goes by without us telling each other "I love you"

just weird. Just a "I don't know what this is, but I feeling something..." would have been so much more appropriate. It would be nice to say it in ME3 after the long hall, but that was the only part of the Thane romance I didn't like...

For example, when femShep romances Thane, the option says "I want you" but she instead tells him that she's there for him, whatever he needs. Hehe.

I honestly thought the use of the word 'love' in the Thane relationship was super cheesy. i mean I talk to this guy like 4 times and suddenly I have the nerve to say "I don't know if this is love, but I feel something..."

I would venture to suggest that you may, perhaps, possibly, by the minority here. Not about hearing 'I love you' in the game, but in RL, especially since from your post it sounds like you're female. Women who -don't- want to hear those words are.. rare.

That just may be personal taste, though. Some people believe praise and affection through words is the best expression of love -- but for others, it might be just spending time with them, giving and receiving gifts, helping each other or simply physical affection. One person may prefer that it be 'translated' to them in one way, while at the same time they express themselves in different way.bushes289 wrote...

(Yes, those are the five 'love languages')

So, how does that translate to gameplay terms? Does that mean an "I love you" mini-game for each LI?

you think the romances are supposed to be that deep?.....AHAHAHA...
Just kidding but truthfully I think that they are relatively shallow relationships given the writing and time constraints of the game.
Yet they are far more emotionally powerful that most fictional romances since we have the illusion of direct participation.
So even if they are not supposed to be deep they are.

Well the LIs are already minigames so I suppose that would work...
