NORMANDY SR-2 - STARBOARD OBSERVATION]

In spite of Shepards efforts, the reaper armada proved impossible to quench.
An initual onslaught was only barely defeated by the united power of the council races; a fleeting victory as the main force of the ancient machines would soon be upon them.
The Normandy was badly damaged in the [massive, yet ultimately anticlimactic finale] and is now drifting in space; only the most basic ship functions operational.
Shepard and [Love Interest] sit motionless on the observation deck floor, gazing through the window screen which dominates the starboard bulkhead.

In the vast emptiness beyond, a mass of light grows steadily larger; far too wavering in nature for a stellar phenomena, yet too palpable to be a mere trick of the eye.
- They both know what it is, and what that knowledge entails.

***Optional addition: Shepard and [Love Interest] are both naked; facing their inescapable death as proverbial "innocents", their vulnerability enhanced due to their lack of protective garments.***

A final dialogue/action wheel appears.
The options enclosed:

- [Embrace]
- [Do Nothing]
- ["I love you"]
- [Joke]
- [Comfort]
- [Seek Comfort]

I was being 100% serious. For once. That's pretty much as close to writing fanfiction I'll ever get.

You know, I actually live within spitting distance of that place....

Factual film error - In the movie, they show one of the troopers jerking off to a woman on a billboard and measuring the speed of his hand with the laser gun. Fact: Advertising billboards are illegal in Vermont.

(It's still a freaking awesome movie though. I never let fact get in the way of entertainment. I only bring it up for interests' sake)

I actually got pretty excited when Miranda wondered "what idiotic hormones decided now is a great time for love", but then Shepard fuc*ed up the vibe by joking "I'm just trying to get you into bed", smiling like a perv.

Yeah, I'm definitely waiting to tell those three words in ME3. (To Miranda to be specific.)

I'd like for Shepard to have the chance to tell Ash how he feels. Hell, I wanted that on Horizon but he just stood there like a big block of stupid wood while she admitted that she'd loved him and everything sucked while he was gone. Instead he said (loosely translated from the actual lines) "DERP!"

it would be hard to take the words seriously with Shepard looking like a perv.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but I think I get it.  If you mean do I empathize with Ash as much or sometimes more than I empathize with my Shepard, then yes.  I think I do.  But I love to rp my Shepard too.  I think I"m interested in character motivation in general.  I like knowing what makes my Shepard tick, but I like to get inside Ash's head too.  Is that kind of what you meant?

Lol. I never pick that one because it sounds so bad. I also thought the dialogue wheel selection for it was misleading! All it said was "Love?" So I clicked on it thinking I was asking her about what she meant.

And oddly enough, wasn't that the paragon option? Weird.

"Why.. why didn't you call me, Shepard?"
"I was dead."

They do a bit of a paragon option bait-and-switch with Garrus as well. It comes down to a point where you can 'fel the same way', or 'i want to be your friend'. The friend option is in the 'paragon' slot, so obviously, a lot of peeps assumes this is going to be a reassuring way of saying 'we're more than just sex', right? Wrong! It's rejection. Of the most heartbreaking kind! (not done it myself, but I hear it's pretty brutal. Gar gets choked up).

Yeah, I learned you couldn't always rely on the positioning of your dialogue options to get you what you want. It was more trial and error for me. I actually found a lot of the lines they chose to draw between paragon and renegade a bit weird sometimes.

When I was playing maleShep, after the Miranda kiss scene I got a bunch of renegade points. No idea why. I didn't find the dialogue leading up to that particularly renegade-ish.

I haven't seen that face in any of my playthroughs. Where does that happen?

I have no idea, but it's hilarious as hell. To be honest, sometimes Sheploo looks like a serial killer or like he randomly wants to kill people.

Wtf? The "I just want to get you in bed" was actually the paragon option? That's...strange. I do know that the last conversation before the Omega relay, has the option to break the relationship in the top right though. Probably so people don't accidentally choose it since the neutral middle option is highlighted by default.

Yeah, it's the upper right dialogue option on the wheel. Odd, huh? Or maybe it just is to me... not used to seeing options like that there...

I always choose the neutral "what matters is how we feel" or whatever option. Actually, Miranda's romance is better when you pursue more renegade choices.

Like, you can only get to the kiss scene by making renegade convo selections, and the kiss enhances the romance. Also, responding in a negative way to her "promise me you won't die" leads to an almost touching moment that I find better than promising her you won't die, which strikes me as more paragon.

Kinda.  I'll be more specific.  When Ash and Shepard are talking or engaged in romance, do you take yourself out of MaleShep and put yourself in Ash's place and pretend you are her instead of Shep?  (i.e. small talk, flirting, sex)

Ah I see.  When I am writing fanfic I often do it from Ash's perspective, but when playing, no.  It's weird.  I'm a female and I prefer my male Shep.   I like to put myself in his place.  So I guess the short answer is no.  I pretty much just rp my Shep.

:)
