yeah, I took hostages... Very Song of Ice and Fire
Its amazing how much infleunce they got from A Song of Ice and Fire when they were writing the story. Not saying its a bad thing, just adds more richness to the story.
Theon Greyjoy anyone?

basically, Dragon Age is a glorious mishmash of A Song of Ice and Fire, The Wheel of Time books, and Lord of the Rings....
in other words, 3 of my favorite things coming together in one place! couldn't be better
also, and I know this is COMPLETELY off topic, but do you think Theon is dead?

Yeah, I've started in on FFXIII. I miss the stories and characters from DA, but Holy Maker there's some jaw-dropping graphics in there. Put the two together and I'm there.

I agree that it's a very good thing, and the Grey Wardens are basically the Night's Watch, just with an actual enemy to guard against, rather than an icy wall...

Hmm, I think he is actually still alive. I believe George R.R. Martin said he would be a POV character in A Dance with Dragons. Flayed alive and tortured but still alive.
I dont think it will make any difference though. By the time he recovers and if he escapes, Euron would've already screwed up the whole Iron Kingdom thing. The **** is about to hit the fan in Westeros though, thats all I can say.

I love Martin, but I don't want him to pull a Jordan on us

I paid Dark Wolf. He told me where they were meeting and I went there and killed them. My only excuse "they attacked first"...
I perfer to think "they were coming right for us."

You are given 3 choices at the start of the game to pay off this wolf who seems to know how to get information at 50gold or enlist this D list person who has a rep for never getting information or just wait and see what hapens. I was talking to this one woman who said she had proof of a conspiracy then she just vanished.
Has anyone figured out what the conspiracy is?
I went with Dark Wolf. After dealing with nobles, the guy just didn't seem that bad.

Sweet tap-dancing christ, no kidding. Not only did he force us to go through books 8-11, then he died.
My wroth is great.
Also, I did the Dark Wolf choice. it amused me greatly. "Dark Wolf? No, I''ve never been involved in that!" *nervous laughter*

Oh, I know. He's on the old and really fat side which equals a bad combination. I think he is older then when Jordan died too.

Ditto I much prefer the wait, then you deal with the ringleader of the bunch.

I tried to send you a PM, but currently the PM-system seems to be broken. Sorry.
Should I replay the game, I will skip the Wolf again. "Do nothing" seems to be the best.

oh and I don't think it is so much soif based. It has a lot of its basis in regards to politics from middle age europe.
which is the same source as martin.

It seems tho that the noble lady that warns you about the conspiracy dies. does that always happen?

I loved that when you finally meet him you can accuse him of stealing your identity - priceless bit of continuity there. But then Ferret wrote the Slim Couldry quest chain, so the continuity was sorta expected. Still, loved it. And I loved his response - it looks like you might've started a trend!
On my first run-through I went with the Dark Wolf, on teh second I waited. I think waiting nets you the most interesting outcome (haven't tried hostages yet, though). Alas, if you wait Ser Tamra dies - though if you don't she's never heard from again.
