Hmmm... did you only defend the trade routes? I think if you defend the farms or all of them, then it should have some impact...
To tell the truth, it seems to be a mess of triggers... like so much in this poorly thought out game.
The fun of quests is not knowing anything, apparently. Its a "new style".
How do you handle the conspiracy

Ah, interesting. So far I've taken hostages and done the Dark Wolf. I wanted to see who was impersonating me. I really appreciated the nod to my exploits in DAO
Next time I will have to wait and see, sounds intriguing...

It's really interesting how you do this whole conspiracy thing and the outcomes. My first time playthrough I didn't do the Wolf quest, just decided to see what would happen. I ended up having the peasants try and revolt until I said I'd give the grain and walked into the throne room and got jumped by the nobles. Also wasn't able to save the woman who told me about the conspiracy in the first place.
This time I did the Wolf quest, killed the plotting nobles at the farm, still had peasant revolt was able to persuade both times, said i would feed my people, went into throne room and no nobles yah lol. This time I assume the woman who told me about the conspiracy lived because I didn't have to deal with that guy for murder. But I'm still curious about how the ending for this 1 will be.
Next playthrough I'm gonna have to try the hostage thing lol.

Just did my playthrough of paying the Dark Wolf and killed everyone on the farm. It was the best 50 gold I ever spent, the first playthrough I did nothing expect call for the dark wolf and try to arrest him. It ends up with you killing him after a short fight
This playthrough I want to take hostages
and how do you get people to call you the Dark Wolf
Also a note, noticed if you pay the dark wolf one of the nobles who gets in trouble for murder is repleaced by another matter
