I am having I assume the same problems eveyone else has been having. I open the game, hit new game, wait for the cut scene, and...BOOM! Crash to desktop. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, updated C++, replaced the dll, made sure I have the latest drivers for everything, but it still happens.
Anyone have any other ideas?

Oh, everything ran fine before the patch but Steam automatically pushed the patch to me Posted Image

I can already see what your porblem is. Dragon Age is not compatible with windows 7 64 bit. I don't think it is compatible with the 32 bit either, because I still have problems after switching from 64 to 32 bit.

It has worked fine for me and others running Win 7 (besides the bugs from 1.03), so i can't imagine thats the cause of his problem.

Not true.  Confirmed to have worked since DA:O launch game version 1.00 under Windows 7 64-bit.  I have never encountered a compatibility error/warning or any program instability under this platform.  Any such problems are most likely attributed to the game updates, not the operating system.

Yeah no crap. It worked fine with 64-bit before this patch. I love ignorant people.

Of course, silly us, Bioware designed it assuming we're all running a 10 year old OS...

It runs fine on Vista and 7 x64 as long you've updated the OS properly. The 1.03 patch has issues with everything form XP x86 to 7 x64, so it's clearly not an OS issue. 1.02a runs like a dream in 7 x64, for me anyway.
