So MS is releasing a 250 gb HDD for the xbox 360, and I'm kind of thinking I'd like to get it, but frankly - with the utter nightmare that so many people have gone through going from ME1 to ME2 (http://social.biowar...657443/1#738200) I'm wondering if it worth the headache.

Does anyone know anything about how ME3 will read ME2?  Is there another non-transferable secret save file? Surely with how the new DLC works they aren't using that deranged system again.  Surely Bioware will learn a lesson on how not to transfer characters from one game to another.

Also, does anyone know the best way to transfer ME1 games to a new HDD so they are readable by ME2?

Thanks..

ME2 saves can be moved (not copied) to the new HDD, and any regular save file made after the final battle will supposedly be importable into ME3. No hidden files, AFAIK.

As for ME1 saves, transfer your auto-save from right before the Saren fight (or any manual save file near the end of the game, really) to the new HDD - then load it from the new HDD, beat Saren again, and you'll create a new properly-ME2-importable game file.

Mass Effect 3 probably wouldn't use the same system allowing for easier transfers of save data for import. I know PC version doesn't restrict data to the same hard drive it was created on and by the time Mass Effect 3 is released they would at least fixed it up.
