Here are some other GLBT characters and couples from the game setting. Not all are stereotypical, so I think that helps ease the notion that Wade & Herren are a couple of artsy queens (which do exist IRL)
FemPC/Leliana
MalePC/Zevran
Zevran/Taliesen
Nicolas and Julien (Grey Wardens) - From The Calling
Martine and Feren (Grey Wardens) - From Dragon Age: Journeys
Paragon Branka and Hespith
Leliana and Marjolaine
Dairren
Iona
Feel free to discuss these, I pulled them from the Gay Wardens Secret Lore group discussion board. =)
the usurper king in the stolen throne is gay as well from how i could interpret it. i thought him to be one of the most special villains i have come across so far. kindof like a gay version of the sheriff in Robin of Sherwood.

Wade & Herren are definitely a couple. Always have been.

It's not "something that gays do" -- but it's something that some gay people do. I didn't write Wade and Herren, but I know a couple who act in exactly the same way so it didn't strike me as being odd. I think there's room to depict relationships of several varieties, gay or straight, and in this case the fact that they're a couple isn't even the most important thing about them, really... hence why it wasn't singled out. It just is. I wouldn't have said anything, but since the question was asked, why not? It's not a wink wink nudge nudge situation, after all.
Seriously? Jawesome! This is why we, or at least I, love you guys.
I'm headed over to the wikia to update their pages right now.
BTW, are they married? Is same sex marriage even legal in Fereldon?

Yeah I definitely got the vibe in Awakening. (Not so much in Origins though ^^). Good on David and Bioware for supporting equal rights in Fereldan
Haha, same. I didn't really notice in Origins but in Awakenings I got that impression real quick. Cool to see Bioware is so progressive.

Right... because they both are obviously saving themselves for marriage.

Hey, if Zevran's marriage proposal to my male PC was anything to go by, this one's not out of the question.

If you are indeed capable of understanding English, then the sequence of responses to direct questions in this conversation indicates that yes; couple does indeed mean lovers.
