Clearly some people missed all those other gay characters that were much more masculine in their behavior -- possibly because they didn't make a point out of mentioning their sexuality, any more than Wade and Herren did. I mean, how would you know? Short of actually finding them with their partner or wearing a rainbow-coloured medallion, I mean.
Perhaps instead of the "Captain of the Guard" floaty over their head it should read "
Gay Captain of the Guard"? Just so you can tell?
Ah, yes. The Gay Captain of the Guard seems sufficiently butch. I am appeased.
...wait. That model's hair is awfully
well-coiffed. And perfect skin, too?Did he just offer to re-decorate
my face with his sword? Outrage!
Clearly I'm kidding... to a point.
As for whether I would ever do a gay/bi male romance that was more obviously masculine, I don't know. Maybe. That's not the most compelling point to base a whole character on, but you never know. Zevran isn't the first gay/bi character I've written or that BioWare has included in our games, and I suspect he won't be the last -- there are, after all, many possibilities to explore.
