Interesting, i went back to the wonderful (*cough*) manual to see if I missed something about the Tab key and didn't see it referenced anywhere (link to my other tab key dog thread: http://social.biowar...47/index/124372).

Ok, so now I'm level 12 and only have a few spell slots open and I need more.

I re-read the manual again and couldn't find the fact that if you unlock the quick slots (left side icon) and drag it to the right Voila! More quick slots.

I must have missed that in the manual after all 3 of my reads.  Sheesh.

Hope that helps someone not feel like a dunce as I am feeling at the moment.

I'm still looking for the walk icon on the character which I can't find.  I know the quick key '/' in the number pad but the game keeps telling me under that character.  *sigh*

Hehe...
I discovered the quickbar extension by experimenting with it for largely the same reasons. I figured with that many spells the bar *had* to be longer, and was elated to discover it stretched nearly the length of my screen. Reading the manual usually comes highly recommended, but for some reason I rarely bother nowadays. With DA I just dived straight into the game. :D

Centre pages on the manual. There's a screen shot with numbered explanations, option 18 is Drag to resize quickbar.

Well, once you get up into the 20s in levels, you start running out of space real quick, even with a resized quickbar, for spells. Anyone know if there's a mod that will allow you to expand the quickbar to two (or more) rows?

It took me three playthroughs to figure that out--and it was by accident. ;) I didn't actually know I had a manual until a couple of weeks ago. It was hidden under content advertisements (And very tiny. I still expect real manuals. Silly, I know....)

I was still having serious difficulty with my mages in Awakening, even though I always extend the bar all the way to the right. Anders did not have any potion slots, which is annoying. I needed a 2nd row.

Ditto! any good mods out there that allow for an extra quick slot bar? I saw one on Dragon Age Nexus, but I'm reluctant to use it because it looks like it requires you to switch weapon sets to open the extra quick slot bar. Seems like that could get awkward.

For mages I use the Advanced Quickbar Mod found at http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=706
which adds 3 more quickbars.

I do like the Additional Quickbar mod for archer hybrids though. Changing quickbar by changing weapon set works well for them
