Hey, if some drunken ****** can [female dog] about his football team losing, I can [female dog] about BioWare losing and how much the other team sucks.

Both very worthy developers in my book - really for it to be so close i consider both winners when the margin is less then 0.3%. Well done to both Valve and Bioware! :)

As far as creepiness goes, the poisonous ones were by far the creepier of the head crab species. I'll give 'em that.

Or better yet, those guys with poisonous crabs on their backs who throws them at you. Man, I hate them. And the sound. Eeeeww!

...great game.

C'mon, Bioware. If you wanna beat Valve, you need to put out the "Blue Box" containing ME, ME2, multiplayer ME, and a totally new intuitive puzzle game all for $60. :-)

this was like watching an NBA playoff game. Valve wins by just a point, but Bioware put up a fight and you never knew who will win it until the final buzzer.

anyways, we can take solace in the fact that we made it to the Finals and that we were beaten by ONLY 160 votes.

i still like Bioware, never liked Valve much because i really hate FPS games

Lame. Oh well it was close. BioWare deserves it far more than Valve. They only won because of all the zealous PC fanboys.

Vavle's community is the biggest group of cheaters on the 'net. hardly surprising. They even use IP bots, and Valve pays their own players for votes.

Doesn't get much lower.

Stop with the ridiculous conspiracy theories. Valve won because they're far more popular than Bioware. Their games sell more, and have been selling more for a longer time span. Hell "HL2" by itself sold 2-3x more than both "Mass Effect" games combined.

Honestly I'm surprised Valve won by such a small margin.

Come on, just look at these forums. How are Valve fans any more pc fanboys than Bioware fans? How many Bioware games are there even for consoles? ME1&2 + DA:O?

Oh yea, Kotor and Jade too. But still, NWN and BG series are pc only. And DA:O is not even close to the pc glory on console. So that statement makes no sense.

Even if they did.. so?
How else are they supposed to win but through enthusiastic voters?

If BioWare had won, it'd have been because they make great games, not because we'd have been zealous PC _and_ console fanboys and fangirls, right?

Haha... ha... ha.
And anyways, go Valve! Totally relieved to see they won, BioWare's great, but to Valve? Well, consider this: Valve consistently releases massive DLCs with incredible amounts of content for no charge, most notably for TF2. They intend on releasing two major DLC packs this month (the first of which for L4D1, a game in which people kept moaning they weren't supporting enough), which gives more than other DLC packs from other companies, again, completely for free. They're one of the few companies that truly involves itself in the community, constantly supporting mods, ideas, artwork and videos, created some of the greatest, most game-changing, well, games in history and even with their runaway success and the legions of memes that ascended from their footsteps, are still the most 'human' and truly considerate out of all the game companies in the world.
Trying to accuse Valve of winning because of 'rabid PC fanboys' is retarded. Yeah, so what? BioWare won because of rabid fans too. Did you friggin' see all the buzz here? There were people who quite literally was going off in anti-[whoever BioWare's against] rants on games they've never played, insulting people who dared vote for the competitor and treated it like a god-damn war effort. And the double-standard here is ridiculous. If BW won, then it was because their games are the greatest in history. Valve so obviously won because of fanboys.

You mean they won because Valve pays off its fans to vote for them?

Hey, look. I've crafted a tinfoil hat for you! Now you can waffle your silly conspiracies like a REAL theorist.
And wait, they're paying us off? Weird, I haven't seen my check in the mail yet. Maybe I should examine my mailbox.

They have repeatedly given major discounts on steam games after winning online polls like these, but I've never seen them do that for winning non-fan poll awards. They can't win, so they cheat and pervert the system. Zynga gave them a taste of their own medicine. Made all the little pre-teen Valve nuts angry.

lol wut.

I guess we should have all gone and paid $80 for Dragon Age Origins Digital Deluxe Edition, $40 for Dragon Age Awakening and then paid extra again to go grab Return to Ostagar and the Feastday combo pack to show how we all love Bioware.

Or maybe we just go buy The Orange Box for $30.  Because Valve clearly priced it like that so everyone would go vote for them in some online poll.

Im not saying DA isn't worth $120+, but The Orange Box is literraly a quarter of its price.  AND you don't have to pay for 'DLC' - you get them for free.

I'm still not understanding how such a lacking company won over the likes of BioWare. Seriously guys?

perhaps you edumacate yourself a bit if you honestly think Valve is a lacking company

Seriously. Find me a more lifelike character than Alyx, years later.

QFE. i also like how the personal connection between her and gordon develops over the course of the 3 games.
