Another question... how many Femsheps are actually female on the stick?

I bet if there was an army of Sheps vs Femsheps...
We'd lose.

I play a Renegade male and a Paragon female, just to have two very different experiences. I like both but my 'main' character is the male one.

I'm a female, btw.

Guy myself... I can never bring myself to play a female o.o even if I do (I've tried trust me) They turn out to be butch, power lifting carpet munching not sure if they are still girls under the hood kind of women o.o

On the purely anecdotal side: I have 11 friends and co-workers who played Mass Effect. 7 Femsheps, only two of which are played by actual girls. Both us girls romanced Kaiden in ME1, all of the guys regardless of their Shepard's gender, romanced Liara. Poor Ashley got no love from my circle of friends at all.

But a lot of people are siteing this poll, and too me that is'nt accurate. Even if all the Bioware Social users voted in the poll, it would still be a fraction of the people that actually play the game. In other words it is not accurate by any standards.

seen one that looks more attractive than my femshep IMO. It's funny, I am not too crazy about Hales's or Meer's voices. I suppose I prefer Meer's better. It seems from what I have observed anyway, that males prefer Meer's mostly and females prefer Hale's. Maybe it's because they relate more with their own gender's vocal inflections. I don't know? They are both bland and monotone to me.

Voices like JohnnyDollar spoke of? Some sense of wanting to test both genders out? Or to drool over some pixilated goodness (which could still be achieved without you being the goodness o.o)

I assume based on the disappointing Sheploo-only marketing it probably something like 90% male playing as male, but I hope I'm wrong about that.
I'd be interested to know how many people play as male only, female only or both. But I'd not be surprised if people playing a 'Sheploo' would be a minority. BioWare may promote Sheploo as a 'canon' Shepard, but not MY Shepard, or yours maybe.
I wonder why people would play as Sheploo seriously. They give you an option to create your own character. If you can't, ouch...

I play male shep because I am a male and wish to have a virtual avatar like me.BlackFlameGhost wrote...
So what is it exactly that draws people to their respective Sheps?

That excuse "Dur I want to look at female backside dur dur" is stupid to use when you are playing a ROLE PLAYING game

The fact that the ad campaign featured ONLY Guyshep and never Jennifer's Hale's excellent Femshep really annoyed a lot of us, so I think that's why there's so much Femshep fanart out there.BlackFlameGhost wrote...
I wonder, I see a lot... A LOT of Femshep fanart, short stories and the like... its like Sheps are rare and Femsheps rule the world o.o

BioWare ignores Femshep, so the fanbase creates it's own art to fill the void.

that only last so long. I was proud of my work, but ok no biggie anymore.
It did take me a while to perfect her face and I wanted to play her and admire my work.
As I said before, both voices are bland and monotone to me.
Perhaps Hale's a little more so. Frankly I wish they would
replace both voices, but we know that won't happen.
