I just think it'd be more mature to have actual homosexual love interests instead of making all of them bisexual.

Hmm, I could see arguments for both sides of that. On the one hand, you could say, "blah blah blah THE FUTURE it's all in the mental connections, not in the dangly bits or lack thereof," as a rational for UNIVERSAL BISEXUALITY FTW. On the other hand, I do see your point that everyone being bi is a bit simple, and having a genuinely interesting and well fleshed out homosexual love interest would be really nice.

Personally, my wish would be something a bit like Dragon Age, with one or two bisexual characters (one of each gender, possibly three if asari "don't count") that can work for either gender  and the rest either straight or gay. What would be really nice is give Shepard the *option* to flirt with anyone in the squad, but have them react based more on their orientation or what have you. If you're a guy approaching a straight woman or a gay man, he'd react favorably, but a lesbian character would reject you, and so on. I can't really see a downside to that... it would allow for more conversation and more freedom in playing your Shepard while still avoiding the EVERYONE IS BISEXUAL issue. Plus there could be some amusing dialog (moar of Mordin gently turning me down, please )

I do think that Garrus and Tali could have arguably made good bisexual options given their characterization, though... but we shall see whether they develop that way or if we can maybe get some new characters.

What your suggesting would require settings in the game would't it?  In regards to how the reaction is.

When you say option, are you talking about an obvious dialog wheel option?

i think its funny how fools blame other countries for this and that . when the truth is not the country per say as much as a choice by the devs for only one reason $$$$$$ because some stores policy is not to sell certain content . And they want to make as much $$$$$ as they can. So they dont include some content so the game can be sold at the all the stores. So put the blame where it belongs on the devs

Wouldn't  you think that some of the devs decision making is based on what the public would say?  Meaning the population within the country; their culture and belief system and what they may or may not find acceptable.  There are a lot of politics involved just like everywhere else.  Though in the end it is up to the company what they put in their games.

Yeah, I'm imagining having romance dialog options open for every single *romanceable* character (forgot to note in previous post that I think having one or two completely celibate characters like Mordin would be good too). The character's reaction to Shepard's advances might depend on whether they are straight, gay, or bisexual.

So, for example, if we assumed that Garrus is 100% straight, both Shepards would get the "reach and flexibility" story as well as the option to say, "let's test your reach and my flexibility etc etc". If you are a femShep, Garrus is willing to try it out. If manShep says it, however, he lets you down easy ("Sorry, just don't swing that way.")

I'd certainly like the option to flirt with/put the moves on whatever characters I wanted, and have them respond appropriately according to their personality. And some rejections should definitely be there too - Shepard should have the option of flirting with people who aren't interested, and finding out through character interaction that they're not interested, not psychically knowing that in order to never bother trying in the first place.

This is something that's done in ME2 with Samara, and I thought they did a good job of it. Shepard of either gender can attempt to flirt with her but she just gives you a "I'm flattered, but no." I'm always in favor of giving the player more options, but I can also see the other side of the argument where giving a bunch of options that don't lead anywhere would get frustrating if they're too common.

Ok, it looks like both of you are saying that the LI's are static.
Shep has to find out what there sexuality preference is?  So there would be no control from the player in regards to the LI's sexuality preference?
So the devs decide what sexual preferences each squadmate has when designing the game and that remains unchanged?
examples:  Garrus 100% straight
                  Miranda 50/50 bi
                  Jacob 100% gay
                  Tali 100% straight
                   Jack 100% gay
                   Thane 50/50 bi
So Shepard and the player have to figure out who is who in terms of sexuality in ME2/ME3?
If I am correct in what you two are suggesting, then I would say this scenario is highly unlikely.  Your basically going to be forcing the hetero players that have no interest in s/s relationships into an intolerable situation.

Edit:  Perhaps you two should go over and check out the s/s romance thread in the ME general discussions forum and discuss it there.  This is what it is there for.
