 Hi all,

I recently reinstalled the Steam Deluxe version of Dragon Age and none of the DLC is appearing in the download manager section. I was hoping someone could help me troubleshoot this. Here's what I know:

1. I own Blood Dragon armor, Stone Prisoner, and Warden's Keep DLCs (the ones included in the Steam Deluxe Edition).

2. The DLC worked on my previous installation.

3. I am logged into the correct Bioware account, as I can see the achievements earned on previous playthroughs.

4. I am updated to the newest version.

5. The DLC does not appear in any of the 3 tabs in the Downloadable Content menu.

I have reset my account password, waited several hours and checked again in case servers were down, restarted Steam and Dragon Age, and sacrificed a goat to the dark gods and I can't get the DLC to show up.

What breed of goat did you sacrifice? Did you bless it with the correct ointment? Which Dark God did you appeal to? Did you use the Ritual of Aclahayr or the Invocation of Tunrida? There is a known issue with the latter, you may grant your neighbor's pets with supernatural fecundity if you drop the vowel incorrectly at the end of the incantation.

Please list the specifications of your ritual apparatus, that would go a long way to finding the problem.

Failing that, did you try ticking the "Download Previously Purchased Content" checkbox on the "Online" tab in the game Options?

One: Register your game

Two: They should indeed appear in your 'downloadable content' tabs, or whichever one is the second in the three tabs you can click.

PRESTO CHANGO: You should be downloading them.

Make sure the Dragon Age Origins Content Update service is running. Try giving it a manual kick start before you start the game:

1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER

2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.

3.) Right click it and select START

If it doesn't start see Section 5 of the DLC In-Game Errors FAQ for help with troubleshooting issues with the service.

You might also want to check out the Redeemed DLC Troubleshooting FAQ which has solutions to some of the more common problems getting DLC to download and install.

OhNineTeen: I know the game is registered. I have downloaded the DLC content before on this account. I even tried re-inputting my registration codes from Steam and it wouldn't accept them. It actually worked fine about a week ago, but since then I wiped my hard drive and reinstalled Windows XP and Dragon Age. Now it doesn't work for some reason.

I think I may have found what's causing the problem, yet I still do not know how to fix it. The DAUpdater is not activating properly. I tried it in the services.msc menu and manually starting both DAUpdater.exe and running daupdatersvc.service in my Dragon Age Origins/bin_ship directory. When I run it just says "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."

I did notice that the FAQ refers several times to Microsoft .NET framework. I think due to my recent reinstall of Windows I do not have that: I am going to try installing .NET and restarting to see if that helps.

Wish me luck!

Huzzah!

Downloaded the .NET Framework, restarted my machine and DA:O, and all the DLC is downloading as I type.

Thanks to those who responded to my plaintive, mewling cry for help.

You've not said what's wrong. Have you registered the game and the DLC codes? Have you used the in-game menu to download and install the DLC?
