I'm on my 3rd playthrough, and I still do not understand this line when Grunt says it. Anyone care to explain?
"You're soft. Salarians, Asari soft. Quarians not so much. Turians.. You have to work the blade a little. Never saw the point myself... heh Get it? Point.."

He's describing the ease to which he can sever a spine.

ahhh that line cracks me up... ME2 had some great lines...
Joker: It's not a cockpit, the Alliances has Bridges.. Asari have cockpits, wait, no they don't..
something like that anyway..one of my favourite lines that one.. hilarious..
but yeah, your question.. humans and asari are soft and squishy fleshlings.. quarians, you gotta get through the suit first.. turians, with all that body armour they wear, kinda hard to stick a knife in them so you gotta work it a little..

Me thinks he's trying to say that the joke is too obvious to be funny. But that's just how I felt about it during the playthroughs.

hard to remember the context, but i think the baby Kroger is saying that its easy to sever the spine using a short blade. when he says he never saw the point (referring to Turians), I always thought he meant there are easier ways to kill them rather than stabbing and 'working' the blade. Either that or the dialogue is specifically to set up for the cheesy joke at the end...
Edit....spellcheck...kroger....lulz

I don't think the image of a scalped Turian is very funny, but Krogan have a different sense of funny.

Scalped humans are gross enough to think about. Scalped turians..? Peeling back chitin. Disgusting.
That said, though, the fact that Grunt and Krogan think that it's funny is funny to me. It suits them. I laugh at videos of puppies, they laugh at the idea of tearing off the faces of their enemies.
