I was wondering if anyone else is having trouble logging onto the DA servers from the Character Creator, or knew a possible solution to the problem.
I've checked my firewall, the CC is allowed, and my firewall shows it is in fact connected to two different IP addresses. A TCP connection, and a UDP. However when I attempt to log in it try's for about 20 secs then gives up saying it couldn't connect to the Dragon age servers, please try again.
My first thought was just that the servers my just be busy, but I've been trying for the past 2 hours with no result.. Could my dial up be causing a problem? I.e. the CC gives up before my 2.6 KB connect is able to download enough information to fully handshake with the servers?
I've checked the technical difficulties thread and no one seems to be having that particular issue, I'm afraid my post in their will be lost to oblivion within the mass of 500 other posts. So I figured I'd post out here asking if the servers are just down, or if anyone knew of a potential solution.
Anyone else having trouble logging into Dragon Age servers from CC?

There are several times when my first attempt doesn't connect right away. If I see it delay for a few seconds longer than normal, instead of waiting I cancel it and immediately hit login again. It works right away, connecting without fail, as it should.
Are you always waiting for the error and then reattempting or do you cancel and retry?
It does lose its connection frequently, I've found, but logging in just before an upload seems to be fine.

I had not tried canceling and retrying until now, but unfortunately no change for me.. After I cancel it grays the log in button out for about 3 seconds, I guess to prevent DOS attacks, but after it comes back clicking it seems to give the same result.
Trying alternate email/passwords lets me know that it's an incorrect email or password, so it must be communicated somehow as only the servers know that.
While it's connecting it consistently seems to download about 95 Kb worth of info from the TCP connection to 159.153.235.3, Port: 18081

I have been experiencing the same problem.
I'm running on Windows Vista (32 bit) Professional.
So far I have tried turning Windows Firewall off, but alas that has no effect whatsoever.

Tiskenburdle, it appears that you have managed to fix the problem.
Would you care to elaborate on how you accomplished this feat?
