I'm not overly keen on what they did with her body language in ME2 (in ME1 she moved and posed in a really sexy way but in ME2 she moves in a way that's more alien)

It doesn't look alien; it looks fake. A lot of the animations for character movement in ME2 look like the characters are being manipulated with puppet strings. I played ME1 the other day and it was apparent how much better the animations were. I don't know if they got a new team for ME2 or what. Sometimes the animations look natural, but a lot of the time it is really bad.

Oh I agree. I don't know WTF the "professional" reviewers are on when they say the animations are improved over ME1. They're distinctly worse in ME2, compared to ME1, especially facial animations IMO. But I think Tali's strange ME2 walk isn't just because of a drop in quality. It looks to me like an intentional move to a more chicken-legged movement. None of the human characters walk the way she does.

Yahtzee was the only reviewer I saw who pointed out the drop in animation quality. As for Tali... I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. To me the way she moves just doesn't look natural at all. She reminds me of the way I used to make my G.I. Joes walk when I was a kid.

What's this about poorer physical animations? I'm curious. I didn't notice anything wrong with Tali. But then, I don't pay her as much close scrutiny as others here do. I'd like to know what you mean by the way she walks differently.

I actually thought the conversation acting was much improved. The way Shepard tries to wave the cigarette smoke out of his face, the way Jack hops up on the table to crouch over Shepard, the way Shep crosses his arms when the reporter offers him her hand.

Even the look Shepard gets on his face when that asari on Illium says, "It's not like with humans, when you can just wait around a hundred years until they die."

There were some good moments, but it was very variable. Have you seen the way Shepard smiles when he tell Kelly she's very loving? Or the way Ashley and Jacob spend half their time bozz-eyed? And Miranda's face is like a plaster cast.

There was also way too much re-use of animations. Half-way through the game I was thinking, I swear, if I see Shepard do that folding-his-arms animation one more time then BW are going to get some hate mail!

Went into me2 as a huge Ash fan and came out the same way, unlike some people i loved the cameo and felt it did justice to the character while allowing for a proper full return in me3.

It
isn't just Tali and it isn't all the character animations.
Shepard's handwave against the cigarrete smoke is great, so is the
batarian he's talking to. However there certain places where Shepard's
walk just looks really fake. For instance when he first meets Joker. As
for Tali, I notice it strongest when she first boards the Normandy and
she walks out of the briefing room at the end.

Most of the
animations in the game are fine, but in my opinion there are several
places where it really stands out for being really bad.

Oh I'm not complaining about those. Personally I don't think Miranda's "perfect body" can compare. Her father got swindled.

Edit: I want to say that I don't find most of the animations used in conversations bad at all. For the most those are all very well done. Honestly, the only animations that really annoy me are the walking animations used during cinematics. They just don't look natural.

Otherwise if you want a good example of bad animation in a conversation look at Elizabeth when you first meet her on Feros and she explains how she got trapped in the ExoGeni building.

Tali is my sole reason for living. Someday, oneday she will come to life and walk out of my TV and hug me and make babies with me and dance with me...and then...she will take off her helmet and see true beauty. I don't even care that her knees go backwards!

Tali is my goddesss. I love her beyond life itself.

Oh ok, I'll be sure to watch the briefing room scene again, then.

And for the record, I thought Shepard's walk was weird, period. It was disjointed and mechanical, like a rusty robot. Or maybe like he'd sprained his ankle. Or had a corn cob stuck up his ass.

So yeah, I agree, there were good things and bad things.

Liara, as I like to romance characters that are seriously f*cked up. Garrus would come in a close second. Jack would have been for the win had she been a femShep option.

I'd have stuck with Ashley had she been in ME2 outside of the cameo she did, but Bioware had other plans. So I ultimately chose Tali as she was probably the biggest sweetheart of our companions from almost the start.

I can, very easily in fact.

I don't find Miranda all that attractive, ESPECIALLY with her ridiculously promiscious suit.  :?
As I've said before, subtlty is underrated.

This x10.

I'd acutally find Miranda more alluring if she were wearing body armor, or the Cerberus dress uniforms Shep has access to.  Something to make her look like the professional officer she's supposed to be.  Her ultratight cleavage suit makes me roll my eyes.

Hell, give her a version of Jacob's BDU/Light Armor setup.  Which is another casual setup I'd like Shep to have access to.

AS for the topic, it's a tossup between Liara and Tali for me.

Poor Miranda. She was scared and running from her father one day, and in her desperation she showed up at Cerberus's door.

The Illusive Man said, "Miranda, I'll hire you. Here's your uniform. You'll be wearing this all the time. Why are you looking at me like that? What? Yes, I'm serious. Now turn around and get me a coffee. Slowly."

And look at Jacob. Or, as I call him, Mr. Tightpants. The legs of his suit are like liquid latex. Very distracting. And Tali's suit is about as snug as snug can get. Jack's not wearing a shirt at all.

The second I start a relationship with someone I know I will cheat on them in the next game, I have no problem with it. I have to kill reapers and save the galaxy.

Just did a key word search on every page of this thread; i'm apparently the only one so far that likes Kelly in this thread...

Why Kelly? She's always there for you, always happy to talk to you, and isn't afraid to offer her opinion on squadmates and missions. She's actually pretty useful. When the crew was kidnapped, the ship felt empty; that feeling was compounded when i passed her terminal.

She is attractive; her green eyes, her red hair and her personality. She has a coy, flirtatious manner about her; but only if you show an interest in her. She isn't all "HEY I LIEK YOU, LET'S SHAG!" like everyone else. She conducts herself professionally while at the same time showing her feels for you. Kelly (and Miranda) don't take rejection like everyone else (i.e.BAAAAWWWWW). They're actually mature about it.

She also has a unique sense of being sexy for you; my guess is that she stripped during her teen years to pay for her post secondary education :P . Lots of people see this as her being a wh*re; if you read her message that she sends you, she tells you that she loves you and wants to spend more time with you... She also has a wicked sense of being naughty :P . And no, it isn't screwing varren, as everyone seems to believe...

Though, that night you spent with her... what did we do exactly? I known i called her up for dinner, but what did we do that had up staying up late? It's insinuated that it might be sex, but the game never lets you know... now i feel guilty after flirting with her, taking her up to my cabin, and then picking someone else... :(

Mm. Very appearance oriented, aren't we? You miss out on some very good people that way, you know.

I'm not the same. An absolutely beautiful face with no one of interest behind it does nothing for me. They're pretty, but unstimulating.

While I would never be so pretentious as to say I'm totally unphased by ugliness, I can say that whether or not a person is attractive to me depends on who they are. Someone who I find initially unattractive can make themselves attractive to me. They can redefine beauty in my mind.

Tom Cruise is supposed to be handsome, but I find him cringeworthy. However, I wouldn't kick the lead singer of Green Day out of bed for eating crackers. And look at Adrian Brody - women are crazy about him, and he looks like Big Bird.

Hehe, you could think that, if you didn't read my first post. Actually I'm not and forgot about the appearance completely in my first post in this thread. That's why I wrote this:

I made my post about the favourite LI-Characters before.
But I didn't at all talk about the looks.

Maybe I didn't word it too well and it was missleading.
My First post is here.

Besides that, I'm not into 'the face' most people are into. For example the woman Miranda is modeled after, that all go bat**** about.. Yvonne Strahthingywhatever? That face gives me nothing. Her body neither btw. I'm not into skeletons...
