Or just do what I do......don't ever again scan for minerals....just mod your saves at the beginning or each game so that you have 990,000 of each mineral and ta-daa you win. Also don't forget to mod the pesky morality bars too so you can make whatever choices you want without having to worry about not having enough points to keep team members loyal and alive......and you can mod ME1 choices you didn't like, give yourself any weapon you like as long as you have access to that class of weapon, infinite ammo for all weapons(especially heavy weapon).....and lots more. ALL possible on xbox360 without ever risking to be banned.
How do you mod a save game on the X-Box version? I haven't heard of that before.

Use a transfer kit or transfer cable(depending on whether you use memory card or hard drive) and Xport360 to drag your saves from your HD/Memory Card on your PC's Desktop. Use Modio or Le Fluffie to break the file open so you can access individual saves. Use Gibbed's Mass Effect 2 Save Editor[Xbox360 Version] to open an individual save and edit it. Save the edited one over the original or simply create a new number save. Lastly add/replace the individual save file to your actual save in Modio if you're using that and "Rehash and Resign" the save. If using Le Fluffie just "rebuild" the save. Now open up your Hard Drive/Memory card using Xport360 again, delete the save file from there and drag the edited copy of it from the desktop.
You can also do a little HeX editig in the beginning of the game but that's very limited and impossible at later stages in the game so I do not recomend it.....I used to do this before I got a hold of the save editor.

These kinds of deceptive practices are becoming more common. I consider save-file editing to be the first step in fighting them, and decent practice. The best way would be to outright pirate the game, but I'm not a pirate. Yarrr.
Fight design choices you disagree with by stealing?
I don't agree with the design choice by ferrari with their newest vehicle, a good way to show em who's boss would be to steal the car from the dealer!
I don't agree with the pirate's sentiment, but your analogy is not fitting. There's slightly more to it than that. Pirates are vociferous in defense of their actions, and they love to talk peoples' ears off if they'll listen.

I suppose so, since data can be replicated at no real cost and the company isn't actually losing anything. On the physical side the company had a lot of costs go into the physical vehicle and losing it through theft is a direct loss of resources and sales.

**** scanning is the reason I don't start up new games. Bioware had to have known it was boring as **** it's not possible for them to look at this and say "I could see myself sitting here for a few hours having a great time."
That's what Hudson believes though. He says gamers are telling him that scanning is higly addictive.
But I blame the Mako haters for this. They are absolutely and directly responsible for planet scanning.

Mako was fun and all, but not after the nth playthrough.

Mako was fun until you tried to get the mineral deposits for the first time (or the anomalies), then it became mind-numbingly horrible.

And Christina Norman says no one likes it so who do we believe?

I can honestly tell you that I'd rather b crusing around in the Normandy hitting scan once or actually driving around and figuring out how I'm going to get to the mineral over there with the MAKO then sit there scanning a planet for what seems like a half hour.

I mean, you can only go so far with imagination...
Then again, we can mod the game so we don't need to scan at all? please tell me how

Mrs. (or Ms., I'm unfamiliar with proper terminology) Norman also stated that leveling up in ME1 instantly pauses the game and takes you to the skill screen.
And Casey Hudson said getting everyone to survive would be hard and yet there were pleanty of posts from people asking how it was hard to have lost people.
Although 1 rwong statement may cast a shadow on future statements, it doesn't mean they are wrong. Personally I'm more apt to believe Norman then Hudson simply because whenever I hear Hudson speak it sounds as if he think gamers are a bunch of morons.

It's easily done with for the PC version, xbox version seems more like something that's not intended to be possible.

I am pretty amazed it ever got through to the final game. I have visions of folk sat round a table at a design meeting and coming up with this. And the playtesters? They didn't comment?

I found the best way to have fun with scanning though is to just put on some addictive song and it helps make it much more entertaining.

So you completely fail to realize BioWare put scanning in and then tied it to your character's survival as well as to that of the crew to drag the gameplay time longer since it lacks decent side quests?
haha yeah that's exactly what I said.
