40 dollars is excessive for an expansion pack of this 'caliber' no questions asked. 20 dollars is a fair asking price for the expansion however and yesterday I bought it for this amount.

There is a promo code from PAX floating around that gives you 20 dollars off a product at the EA online store. I used it on DA Awakening and poof the game was 20 dollars. For a half-assed game I paid half the price. I think that's fair.

Actually here's the promo code for anyone interested in buying the game at the price it should have been originally. PAXEAST842, put that in when it asks you for it at the checkout.

thanks for that i tried it and it worked finally a copy thats actually a fair price  you sir are going on my wall of heroes

This is a tricky one, what is a fair price for a video game, any video game?

DA:O in Sweden was priced 599 SEK at launch while DA:O:A is priced 299 SEK.

It's half the price, but it's not half the content. However, in comparisson to many full games DA:O:A is actually as long or even longer in some cases.

Plus the fact it has more replayability than a lot of games due to the difference in classes etc.

So what would be a fair price? On one hand it's about 1/5 of the original game but on the other hand it's as big or even bigger than some full games...

Personally I havent finished it, but this far I feel like it was worth my 299 SEK.

(Seriously, $40 for a pizza dinner for 2? That's insane. I'd expect to pay that much at a steak house for 2 but pizza??)

What kind of stringy half dead cow are they serving you at that steak house? I doubt you can go to Steak and Ale for $40.

I know they're not super snooty or "elite" but the quality of their food works fine for me.

I doubt you can get out of those places for under $40 either. If you're drinking, forget about it.

Heck, my wife and I went to breakfast this morning and it was $35 with tip.

My wife almost never drink when we eat out and if I do (which is rare when we eat out) I usually only have 1 drink. So i f we both get 1 of the 2 for $15 meals, I get a drink (~$5) my wife orders a pop (~$2) with tax and tip we're still below $30 for a nice meal including a drink for me. I'm not saying people can't find ways to spend more, just that it's been my experience that even eating at a steak house usually costs far less than $40, much less a pizza place.

I got it for £15 pounds on Amazon. A pizza for two costs more than that in the UK. Hell, parking fees for going out at night will run you that easily. So I have no complaints on price.

Considering dinner for 2 at a pizza joint is $40, I got more than my money's worth.

I paid $20 for Jade Empire and I'm loving it long time alabama blacksnake

I know this is off topic but I've got to ask, what the hell kind of pizza joint do you goto that you spend $40 for two people. I mean does it have some sort of oral massage threatment or something? Can pick up a 36" pizza for $25 and that feeds like 8 people.

Ahaha! That's too expensive.Maybe the pizza has caviar-stuffed lobster with fried quail eggs on top and a light drizzle of truffle oil? Where I live, you can get a large cheese pizza at a real italian mom and pop joint for $10 and that feeds 2 very hungry people to 4 people.I could get a steak dinner for 2 for $40.
I paid $40 for Awakening for the disc (Xbox). IMO, with content, gameplay time, and replay value, it should cost $20-28.I would've said $30 but there are more bugs in Awakening compared to DA:O.

Well for those of you who play on both PC and Game Console instead of paying full price.. Here is an idea take a couple of your games trade them in on the cost of Dragon Age. I paid exactly $12.00 for my dao expansion.
