Ok im not the person that complains alot but this lagg is really f*****ing annoying. First i really didint mind and after some days now it's beggining to get abit annoying. But now i dont have any more patiance, i keep dying in big battles with about 7-15 monsters, and i've seen many people have had this problem.
I've read ALOT's of posts about this lagg, and it feels like 70% of the players have this lagg and im talking about computers now.

Cant Anyone come up with a good solution, i've tried everything that other players recommend us "laggers" to do ;P but nothing works. And my computer is suppose  to fix this lagg without a problem cause i dont have any problems with crysis and that game is more advanced in graphics so....

And the reason why im so desperate is because i really like this game, i like gearing up n stuffs like that, Just like Oblivion, to bad it was to short tho lol :P

So please help us laggers out were beginning to get quite desperate. : [

We're visiting here in case anyone needs help.  You are wasting space just venting.  When you do decide we may be worth listening to after all, attach all of the missing information.

How can this game have lag? It's an offline single player game.

There is an weird problem that some of us have that sometimes during battles the actions take forever to be cast. Like, you step into the fray and you see your char getting low in health, you go and pop a Heal. It takes forever to cast the Heal and your char dies in the process.

It looks just like an connection lag, but obviously is not. It happens sometimes after a few hours of gameplay, sometimes after a few minutes. It can get worst in big battles.

And it's happening since the lanch of DA:O. And there's no fix out, yet.

PS: Sorry for the bad english :(

I experienced this problem once or twice before I replaced my video card (old one burnt out).. That makes me think its a graphics problem, but as I said, I only experienced it 1-2 times before getting the new graphics card. The new card doesn't pull nearly as much on the cpu as the old one, nor does it use as much RAM (old one was on-board), so it could also be one of those two. Listing your system specs would help.

Its a system issue...not lag.

You do not seem to get THIS point.

Which translates to: There are plenty of other players that are willing to offer assistance in the form of suggestions if you are willing to make an effort to provide system details (hardware and driver specs), and game specific information (What fights, what class, which opponents) and engage in a calm discussion with them. Some have as much technical or programming experience with computer tech or game programming as any official game designer and more than a few have way more than you'd get from a standard tech service person.

So, instead of complaining... take a little time and engage in conversation with us and just maybe someone will solve the problem.

No, the issue rests squarely on 1.03/Awakening's shoulders. There is really nothing to be done about it, unless Bioware releases a hot-fix or a new patch. There have been some ruminations of fixing it by turning off the online options/auto-save features in-game, as well as forcing the game to run in DirectX9 or compatibility mode. However it's all anecdotal and ultimately does nothing since the patch is the culprit.

Whether there is an IMMEDIATE fix at hand, or not, ignoring the supporting information is like the old wives tale that claimed Ostriches hid their heads in the ground when badly frightened.

Anecdotally, 64 bit OSes may be more problematic.

Valsung, what you fail to understand is that not all of the problems affect everyone (or even among those who experience them, in the same way). This makes isolating them and getting a patch far more difficult than simply sitting a programmer down and re-writing a section of code. I am one of those 'ruminating' on the auto-save/online options. It just so happens that by doing so, I have completely stopped crashing... I haven't experienced a single one since doing so. As a programmer, that gives me a huge jump on the isolation phase of debugging... and getting that piece of info to Bioware will significantly boost the chances that they can repair it (and by doing so, reduce the overall number of issues that can produce conflicting symptoms that make isolation of other crash bugs difficult). The same thing applies to the bug that crashes due during the use of AoE spells like Mana Cleanse... knowing that people who experience this can sometimes stop it from occurring by updating their Direct X run times or force a DX-9 mode is useful info for isolating the problem... one that they may not be experiencing because its not internal to their code... but now that they know about this possibility, they can set up a system to test without those run times and attempt to reproduce the crashes... and if it plays out, they can fix this by ensuring the necessary libraries are included with the installation. There was another installation bug that was caused by people having outdated RAR software that prevented them from being able to decompress files properly... again, not a problem in their code but in other installations in users systems. One they can override and compensate for, now that they have the information about how it happened in the first place.

That is why this sort of information is necessary. Certainly, the problems wouldn't have occurred without the patch. But the solutions are not all going to be fixable by ONLY looking internal to the code of that patch. Some will, some won't... and some may only be seen on certain users computers because of an unusual combination of hardware and other existing software that NO ONE but that one person can reproduce. If that person isn't willing to talk about the problem, no one else is going to figure it out.
