Probably because of the new abilities and specialisations my whole view on the best classes have changed.

Before in Origins i prefered mages and rarely played rouges.

Now in Origins i totally prefer rouges. Deft hands was their main skill for me and thanks to Legion Scout and the raised level camp i am able to make rouges a near warrior while still being to detect, disarm and unlock things aswell as the rouge backstab/critical bonuses.

Warriors have completely changed for me. Before it was always dual wielder or sword and shield but now i much prefer the 2h style for all the knockdown and tanking effects (e.g indominable *probably spelt wrong"). Dont like the new specs much though.

Mages used to be my all-time fave especially as Arcane Warriors but now i feel they are the weakest class possible. They always seem to take longer to kill enemies than the other classes.

Anybody else switched class preferances through Awakenings?

Nope. Blood Wound+Touch of Cold (or whatever it's called)= everything within an 100 mile radius dies.

I haven't switched classes, but somehow I made Nathaniel into an unstoppable archer; he absolutely annihilates EVERYTHING on Nightmare difficulty now... 100% crit chance, spamming 200+ dmg crits every 1 second or so. This is with Accuracy and Aim passives on.

Yeah just Aim itself is pretty redonculous, not to mention all the other new archer talents. Mages can still one shot entire screens full of enemies though, so not sure why you think they are "weak".

I preferred Rogues in the original and found they were fun and easy to play. Dual wielding once you had Momentum turned you into an instant blender.

I haven't played with rouges since I quit theatre. Lipstick is so much more convenient.

I've been a 2h warrior fan since release. I still am. Spirit Warrior is awesome for it.

I tanked out my rogue from the get go in Origins. Plus if you have master Ranger: Shale + Great Bear = Massive tanking fun!!

On my playthrough with this expansion I didn't pay as much attention to class and skills as I did before. I just started playing.

After a while I noticed Nathanial was just brutalizing everything with a bow. I check his stats. His attack and damage was like twice what everyone else was sporting. Makes me want to roll an archer next time through.

My PC was a 2H Warrior/CHampion/Templar

Added Spirit Warrior, was pwning stuff in DAO and pwns stuff even harder in DAO A

I never did try archery in DAO, but Nate was an archer in DAO A and he was pretty epic too.

Then again everything is so easy in DAO A every class seems epic.

Yeah he is way over powered, dealing like 900dmg per shot

I imagine what it is, is i prefer passive abilities. I use alot of talents but if i was choose between an activated or passive i'd choose the passive.

I prefer passive as well, if partly aesthetic--the visual effects are so goddamn annoying. That was, until I found the advanced tactics mod (which turns off sustained abilities during cutscenes). For the same reason I don't use elemental weapons.

Another problem is, you never know if the sustained ability stacks with other abilities--so you don't find out until 4 levels later that your entire skill tree was a waste of talent points.

Active Dueling with Keen Defense and All the Assassin skills alonside Legion Scout and all Vitality and Clarity make the most damaging dual wield rouge i can think of.

I love how they made every class pretty good. In Origins, I felt 2H warrior and Archer to be pretty weak. Both mainly because of lack of CC and with Archers, lack of damage, except for the the occasional Arrow of Slaying.

In Awakenings, I like 2H warriors... Oghren is a beast because of the new line of 2H talents that is all crowd control. He can tank because being surrounded is no big deal anymore. And for archers... Accuracy is insane. Add that rain of arrows talent and wow.

I never used Sten or Oghren in DA:O but I am really tempted to whip out Oghren even though I prefer a Shield tank. (Justice). And I was going to put Nate on ice until I saw what accuracy does....

My favorite hasn't changed: DW Rogue. They got some new skills and tricks and that one where you deal non-stop critical hits until you run out of stamina just turns you into a fudging demon. Oh, and Momentum + 4 Momentum Runes = lol.

2-handers became really great. Not only great damage, but AoE and CC as well. I think I'll try it on my next run as I didn't use it in DA:O.

SnS also got upgraded with support/defensive abilities. I'm not really a support player though.

Archery is so boring in Dragon Age, I could never play one.

I am loving 2h warriors though, Massacre is my new favorite talent.

Cone of cold is bugged right now in Awakenings (not sure about 1.3 patch), nothing can resist.

I think accuracy is bugged.  Haven't had it confirmed, but he's out of control.

I would've loved to have tried out Battlemage/Arcane Warrior, it's a pity all the new specializations are level 20 and Short-Awakening-only.

I am preferring rogues now and two handed warriors are also fun but my mage kills groups in seconds without the need to aim or touch any slow to cast friendly fire spells. They can just tank their way around now. All rogues/warriors/mages are overpowered.
