DW Rogue is still my favorite playstyle. It's amazing in Awakening. I could easily get 200-300 damage per hit with a single backstab and break the 500s with mark of death. I dropped the High Dragon in 10 seconds. And that's without Tainted Blade(it's bugged) which would make the DPS more ridiculous.

I'm under no illusions though. Mages are still the gods of DAO. They kinda suck against bosses(unless you stay back and use buffs and heals) and the other 2 classes are slowly catching up, but it's the versatility and power of a mage is unmatched.

Massacre is absurd, giving all Warrior's an AE I Win button.

Haste + Blessing of the Fade + a Momentum rune (or three Momentum runes and Precise Striking) = maxed haste bonus, making unstyled 2h swings extremely fast. And pretty darn hard-hitting, too. DPS on the character sheet for my warrior is 351 now, at level 34.

Most encounters are a joke. Everything looks overpowered for that reason.

I finding that my spells are pointless against enemies that are truely worth any effort besides the sustained spells as an arcane mage. Freeze bombs are just as effective as freeze spells/forcefield against the Blackmarsh final boss... Sigrun and Oghren tanked with no problem as long as they took a couple lesser stamina droughts, I took out all of the secondary issues of the Blackmarsh boss with my Arcane Mage while Ander's ranged spell attacks were pretty useless. Nathaniel as an archer is much the better choice for some bosses with the rediculous new archer skills.

I killed Nathaniel with my human noble, so I respec'd Sigrun to an archer for that game and she was far more useful than Anders was in my game as an arcane mage.

Oghren is sick with the Nug Crusher though. I barely get a hit in most enemies before he wastes them. 2H warrior is definitely the most powerful ally to ask for in Awakening. Dual Wield Rogue seems the most well rounded and effective as a player character if you have the skills to use poisons and bombs.

Ever just go all out damage for the fun of it? Just every point on strength, damage boosting skills, strength boosting equips, etc...

So funny, especially if a mage casts haste.

That's pretty much what I've done. I could switch a few equipment pieces around to get about 10 more dps, but the difference between 361 and 351 isn't much.

Well, it's 10. But you get the idea. Posted Image

And with the new items/skills, you really don't miss out on anything by going all strength. I've still got almost 700 hitpoints and around 500 stamina.

As good as Vigilance is, Chasind Great Maul still has higher DPS (on the character sheet, anyway) for that type of warrior.

The difference isn't very big, though.

Mages are far from weakest, as said Blood Wond + Touch of Cold, and even if that dont kill it u can still go Keeper spec then do that lost spell there, can't remember the name but it will surly kill anything near to u...Now they got a bigger burst then before, so they are far from weak. But i still think 2h warriors recived bigest buff, i mean i played 2 2h warriors in Origins and 1 tank, but now with Pions thing, Masacre (know not 2h skills) but there is also The Aoe stun in 2h and more strenght and if u get Vigilance at end i had like 250 normal crits, and 100-150 normal hits...had like 60% of Party dmg...

It seemed to take longer to kill with mages to me. Even two-handers seem to be faster and DW rogues with momentum and dual striking rip the whole crowd apart.
