I´m just speculating here, however I think that Alistair is going to drop Queen Anora and do the "deed" with Empress of Orlais (those letters in RtO to King Callian).

Morrigan delivers her demon-love-child.

That makes 2 new origins for DA:2

Which means it will be the 2nd generation that moves the story along. ;)

I hope to god not. After all that work I had setting Alistair and Anora up, and preventing the birth of the devil-child.

Well, I did a lot of work keeping Alistair alive, not making him king and have Anora rule :)

Oh, and yes, I do want him to return, badly, but NOT to kill him off to make things easier, like they did with Khalid in BG :?

Maybe they can introduce Alistair's real mother. Fiona the Grey Warden mage from the Dragon Age: The Calling novel. Kinda ironic that a mage-hunting Templar's mother was an elven mage.

Oh hell yes and I have signed. I want my beloved at my side for obvious reason but also because we tank so well together as fighting partners.

For me all the characters you can romance in DAO should continue their journey with your pc if you romanced one of them, I missed Zevran wih my HNF

Alistair is a cool warrior to have around, but as a person he annoyed the hell outta me with his remarks when he disapproved of what I did. When I tried to make amends there was nothing I could do for him, he also refused to give me the templar ability. Also the fact that he doesn't accept the fact that he is the rightful heir to the throne and stand up for his people when they need help really annoys me. I took all of Allistair's gear during the Landsmeet battle, then recruited Loghain and had Anora execute Allistair. I talked with Loghain and he really isn't that bad of a guy. Just that his methods may seem "renegade like" if you know what I mean. He had a good track record, then screwed it up; but at least he wouldn't wimp out on me.

I'd rather he not be.

1. In my canon play-through, he left forever and is a drunk.
2. I don't want DA2 to have anything to do with Origins.

This wouldn't work for me, either I died or Alistair died. All the PCs that died will not be brought over to DAA, I don't agree with it, she died for a reason.

But I agree with Walina, all the other LIs should be, in some part, with your PC in future games.

If DA2 is a true extension of Origins (which is hinted at with the epilogue slides for Awakening that say you and your lover (whoever it was) disappeared, though "no one believed their story was over..."), then these are the "Origin" stories I'd like to see based on DAO endings:

PC rebuilds Grey Wardens: Set in the new Warden lands. Recruit Alistair (if he stayed a warden with you), Leliana, or Zevran based on who you were in romance with.

PC travels (chasing Morrigan, with Leli or Zev, or by themself): Set in a port town of Orlais or Antiva. Recruit Leli or Zev based on who you were in romance with. (I think Morrigan returning would be better later in the game, and open to any ending where you took her offer).

PC serves the throne (no romance with Alistair): Set in Denerim. Recruit Alistair or Loghain if one's alive. If female Warden, a second chance is offered to romance Alistair as the story progresses.

PC is Queen/Mistress: Denerim, recruit Alistair.

PC is consort to Anora: Denerim, recruit Alistair or Loghain if either live.

PC is new character: Allows for new players and those who want their dead Wardens to stay dead.

there probably will be a choice in the characters in DA 2, it might depend on the choices you made in the first game though

Good idea, If possible, I would rather play as my Warden Commander's God-Child. Alexandros the Grey needs to settle down and have a calm life with his Red haired wife and 2.5 kids in Denerim, maybe Orlais since Leliana likes it there so much.
Alexandros will quit while he is ahead and practically a living legend unless I can't play as his and Morrigan's kid. Then he will need to suit up and rip the Darkspawn (or whatever new enemy) a new one

Holy crap, Alistair's mom is an elven warden mage? That is Ironic considering he was trained by the chantry (who hate elves) to hunt mages (which his mom is) Damn

How very surprising that most of the signed responses are women.

I just want him back because he's my brother at arms. Together, back to back against the Darkspawn.

Hell yeah, he makes for a fine tank in the weaker days of my mage turned AW

Im not sure, but I heard Dragon Age 2 will be set in a different age, so no returning characters, but there may be of course mentionings of the old ones

Dragon age 2. Not "Different Age 2"

Cant say i dont agree on some level, Aliaster gets on my nerve is like a grown up acting like his still a teenager, sure he throws a couple of funny qoutes but mostly his annoying, he doesnt wanna take responsibility of anything and usually can only ciritize every half good or good surgestions thats put on the table, how he ever became a templar or a wardens beyond me to comprehend he doesnt actually point to that image for me, being more a lackey than anything choosing to have others make his decisions for him and then complain if it isnt what he exspected it be.

The drop fell for me at the landsmeet when he wanted to excute Loghain okay his methods werent the finest, but he did it in good will. surgesting that you kill a role model who could possibly help restore the grey wardens in ferelden and possibly make future blight less a threat seems silly, just because your spoiled and cant stand the notion your sense of justice isnt the same as everyone else logic dictates.

If i dont see aliaster again ill be more than thrilled, if you ask me he dident deserve to be neither king nor a wardens as he is obviously as bad materials for either as Cailen was as king.

Signed, he was a reliable darkspawn killing partner, and had a good sense of justice. For those critiscising his performance with Loghain, that man killed all the people Alistair was close too. And he killed Duncan, who easily had the greatest beard in DA: O. So I was happy with the choice, and didn't hesitate to lop off Loghains head, then kick it as far as I could. xD /Signed

This is complete speculation. It could just as easily be that there's another bastard of Maric's out there. Personally, I think that's more likely and would make for more interesting plot developments--particularly if that child is older than Alistair and isn't a mage. Don't know that the nobility for Fereldan would want mage genetics entering the royal blood line, though. On the otherhand, an heir might be possible there. </OT>

I REALLY wish people would quit throwing around "Alistair is Fiona's son" like it is a fact.

No one in game, in book, in forum has confirmed or denied anything, so there is equal evidence that he is NOT her son and is indeed the child of an indiscreet man and his maid.

edited to add-> Ninja'd whilst I checked out new auction LOL
