As an aside I adore Wynne and despise Loghain, so there's another clue as to why some people might love certain companions and others won't. It's a lot to do with your own experiences.

Similarly, Lelianna and Morrigan were written for men who needed better moms.  Seriously.  Lelianna is a girl and Allistair is a boy.  I want a woman and ladies should want a man.

I adore Wynne and depise Loghain, too; especially after reading Mr. Gaider's books. Loghain was a real snake...and that's being nice!

For all of you people hoping that the next DA takes place a long time after Origins, I say no (as in I hope not). Too many loose ends to just leave and just explaining them in text or a conversation would be boring.

I hope the next game will tie up the loose ends but I hope we're not forced into a Dark Ritual canon.

I'd also love to have Loghain back as a companion but I don't think it'll happen - if he even survives (which he won't in most games, either due to execution or the redemption ending) the taint will eat him up pretty fast due to his age.

As for Alistair, I couldn't care less if he's in it. A cameo maybe, but he has the potential to die twice as well. I was quite charmed by him in my first game but grew to like him less over time. He didn't make it past Landsmeet in most of my games so I'm not bothered about seeing him again.

(For the record, I didn't find Kaiden whiny - not sure where that's coming from. He seems to be the most balanced of all the potential romances for females in Bioware games. Well, up until Zevran, anyway).
