Ya know, I tried a new HNF last night, and that was the first HN I've played in a while where I didn't go through with the Iona/Dairren fling. It felt kinda... ****ty (edit: "s l u t" is apparently filtered here). I tried it but the dialogue with Fergus got me scolded by Oriana about shaming the house. I always do it on my males though and Fergus doesn't care!magnuskn wrote...
Well, I usually play as a female Warden, because I got no interest in romancing Morrigan ( which bears out pretty well after having finished the game one time ^^ ) and you can get Leliana anyway.
Since I also ascribe to the "directing a movie" way of playing these games, I don't see a problem with RP'ing a woman here. I wouldn't want to RP a woman in a real tabletop roleplaying game, though. Here, your answers are pre-chosen for you. There, I wouldn't know how to best react in many occasions.
And now that I think about it... playing a female I probably can't get the kiss from Bella either can I? Male PCs get all the fun!

Hmm... well I guess that's not so bad. Seeing the cutscene from castle Redcliffe, he can breakdance pretty well (really where did he learn that???).sylvanaerie wrote...

DWYN?!?! Is that really a "perk?"Gilsa wrote...
Do male characters get to offer to sleep with Dwyn in order to have him help defend Redcliffe? If not, then that's another perk in female PC.

That's one of two quests I just refuse to do anymore. It's just wrong and there is no possibility of a happy ending.

What, the Cammen/Gheyna quest? How is their getting married not a happy ending? Or is this if you sleep with one of them? I haven't hooked up with Gheyna but even though Cammen was scared of me I still convinced Gheyna to marry him and he wisely never brought it up.It's just wrong and there is no possibility of a happy ending.
I've heard people say it seems like Wynne hates elves, but I think it might just be male elves. She made Aneirin run away, tried to convince him to leave his peaceful home to go back to people who tried to kill him at fourteen, and couldn't even be bothered to take his token when she left at the end of Origins. Zevran, of course, she keeps trying to 'save' and Cammen most likely doesn't get the girl if you sleep with Gheyna. Does she freak out and call you a bad person afterwards, too, or is Cammen the only prude? If the male Warden chooses to seduce Gheyna when Wynne is in the party her opinion of the Warden will, surprisingly, increase by seven

When asking him to fight in the militia, you get a Persuade option that runs something like, "What about a more... personal reward?" He hems and haws and turns you down, though he might say something nice about you, especially if you're a dwarven lass.Thor Rand Al wrote...
Speaking of seducing, you can seduce the dwarf that's got Sten's sword lol. Not sure what his words are or if he even takes up the offer but if you're playing a female you get that other option. I forget the exact words but it is there.

When Bioware announced six new romance options for Mass Effect 2, people immediately started making characters in ME1 that had no romances so they wouldn't be in the position of having to break up with their original love interests. There really isn't a way to break up with the ME1 love interest in ME2 and Bioware said there'd be consequences in ME3 if your character "cheated." Yeah, keeping my character clean "just in case." Could be moot if we have to start again on fresh characters in DA2, but that's OK. It was nice to not have Wynne ask me about relationships at least once! =p

A dwarf romance? When did they announce that?Gilsa wrote...
Heh, I did say "offer." Didn't mean to imply that it worked. I just like the fact that we can even try to bribe Dwyn this way because it's absurd enough to be funny. My dwarf commoner is romanceless so she had no qualms about making this suggestion to Dwyn and even less so for visiting the Pearl (had Oghren walk in by accident, too). Reason my dwarf commoner is not attached to anyone is because they'll add a dwarf romance at some point and I don't want to break up with anyone just to move on to the new guy/gal.

And I'm not sure why everyone is so concerned about dwarf romances. If
you're playing a dwarf and you think it's weird, then my suggestion
would be not to romance anyone. One day, however, we WILL do a
dwarf-specific romance. I swear it.

So, no, I'm not inclined to be scared of Sten. He's big, but so what? Virtually all the people I've killed are bigger than me. And as for Alistair, if he acted leaderlike, since he's senior, I'd let him lead, but he clearly doesn't want the job, and yes, so I'll handle it, just like I handled the Arl's son.
(As an RP note, I just assume my CEF was well trained and has spent years fanatically training after her mother died. I also assume that she has been involved in plenty of street fights, and as anyone who has played the game knows, virtually the most dangerous opponents in the entire damn game are Denerim street thugs. After growing up fighting them, Darkspawn other than Ogres and Emissaries are laughable. "Baby, I grew up on the mean streets of Denerim. I'm supposed to be scared of you!?")

Haha! You know, you may be on to something there. Between Gaxkang, city guards and the thugs those Denerim streets are worse than the Deep Roads.Taritu wrote...

That's for sure. Fortuneately we have good ole Sgt Kylon to help with that mess. (He is the only city guard to walk away from the merc ambush in my games) For me that's one of the toughest fights in the game.
BTW The same VA who does Sten does Sgt Kylon
