Thus far I see no incongruity in the female PC being
established as just as experienced, just as capable as a male PC or her
male Warden counterparts.
Please show me where I stated otherwise. The OP argued that, given equal skill, a physical size is an important factor when determining combat prowess. If you've read my posts, you'd realize I never made that point since 1) I don't really know if that's true (but I'd argue that NEITHER DO YOU) and 2) I don't think it is a necessary argument to make.
On the other hand, I did state that this is more about perception since we're talking about the believability of certain conversations/interactions.
Butwhatever... as I said earlier in the thread, if you find playing a female PC so terribly OOC and implausible, then that is easily solved by not playing a female PC.
Off topic...?
Here is a version of what you ar really saying:
if you find
the fact that others have qualms about playing a female PC so terribly OOC and implausible, then that is easily solved by
playing a female PC and not posting in a debate.
I have played female PC, anyway.

This is pulling at straws. Bryce Cousland says he would take you with him and is sure you would do well in battle, but a) your mother objects,
he needs someone to guard the home front, c) he does not want to risk both his heirs at once (as Fergus' wife points out). His pet name for your PC is obviously something carried over from childhood. Naturally your PC is young, but that applies whether you're a female or male.
Yes, he WOULD take you. But the fact is, he didn't. Thus, what I said earlier, HN has no real battle experience before Howe. And hence, the line of dialogue indicating that you have yet to prove yourself in battle. I find it hard to imagine why you think I am "pulling straws" when my point was never about the reason WHY you were not taken.
Whereas Alistair has spent his young adulthood sheltered in a monastery. Training in soldiery, to be sure, but so has the HN. All of this puts you on parity with Alistair in everything but a minimal amount of Grey Warden exposure. The mage character is the one who has the least plausible reason to be in Ostagar fighting, but again, that applies whether you're male or female.
Someone quoted that Alistair had been in the grey wardens for 6 months. Even taking into account that he obviously didn't fight every day, that's a TON more battle experience than the 1-2 days you've had previous. That, plus the fact that he actually HAS encountered darkspawn before, whereas you have not, makes him much more experienced IMO.
But at any rate, we are just arguing on subjective details now. You say 6 months is not a long time, I say it is. I can certainly understand why you'd like your opinion to be true, but I just don't think it is true. I'm also pretty tired of the pettyness in this thread, so I think we should call it a day, and agree to disagree.
