After installing 1.03, I cant really create *new* characters. I can import my old ones, sure, but if I try to create a new one its a blank screen. I went through the whole thing and the character came out bold and with a default face. I have screens to show the blank character creation:

Any suggestions on why and fixes?

I have this issue as well. Clean install and patch up to 1.03. Impulse purchase.

Windows 7 x64, whql 196 Nvidia drivers, 8800 gtx, 4gb ram, Q6600 Intel.

Yeah, BioWare release great games... really poor patches, lol.

I just installed Awakening (along with patch 1.03) and came up with a similar problem, where the character model just wouldn't show up on the character creation screen (menus and background were fine though). Disabling a few mods I had installed seemed to solve the issue, so perhaps you could consider trying that, if you have any mods installed.



I hope you have the same problem I had, as it was quite easy to fix. Otherwise, well, at least I tried!

I just installed another copy of Dragon Age and labeled it 1.02 version, go go ghetto fixes.

guys its just as said by overmind2k3 just disable some mods!

No mods here, just the original game (I'll buy Awakenings later). S8B_Powder, what precisely did you "label" 1.02? Do you have the models visible again in character creation?

Only thing I've seen do this is the use of the DA: The Next Generation mod which adds the "Cleric" class to the game, it worked til 1.03 and Awakenings was released, after 1.03 and Awakenings it started doing this so I removed it and voila everything hunky dory again.



Regardless if you're getting this with a vanilla original game install and no mods, I've got no freaking idea what the problem is.
