That was a rather odd exclusion from ME2. I mean even if it's only there to tell you when it's being jammed, it's still useful!
In a poll update, the ME1 HUD for both xbox and PC are beating the ME2 HUD's quite convincingly at the moment.

Why is everyone trying to remove the "clutter" nowadays? I like more information onscreen as long as it's useful, it doesn't fill half of the screen and interfere with the game. "We noobified the gameplay, simplified the skill system, butchered the inventory and removed 75% of the UI for a cinematic experience roflolololol"
This is a supposed to be a video game, not a sterile cinematic experience.
