Hi everybody. I've just ended my second playthrough of this awesome game.
For my next campaign against the collectors I wolud like to use every squadmate for various missions, not just their loyalty ones, so everybody "does his part" in defeating the collectors.
Considering that now I know in adavance what I'm going to find in each mission I'm trying to assign each squadmate a type of mission, so I use them all.
People like Miranda or Garrus can almost fight anybody but I'm having some trouble finding the best missions for people I don't use much, like Jack, Samara or Jacob.
¿What's your opinion on the best missions for each squadmate?
I'm not very fluent with english. I'm sorry if I've made some mistakes.

How strong squadmates are depends entirely on the character you're playing.
For example, I play a level 60 ME1 import, meaning I start at level 5.
So by the time I do the first recruitment mission, I'm level 7 (without any sidequests) .. note that at this point I only have Miranda, Jacob, and Zaeed.
At this point, I usually have Jacob with squad incendiary ammo. 'cos pull 1 is all you need for both warp bombs or getting the bonus damage to finish someone off with.
Also, unless I'm a vanguard, I don't bother buying or researching shotgun upgrades .. so I just make Jacob use the pistol.
He's actually very good support at this point .. at least until I recruit overpowered characters like .. Samara.
Samara has very fast recharge on her biotics, so make her use it.
Personally, I'm just happy making her use throw all the time (put points in her passive to for faster recharge and weapon damage).
Also, give her the vindicator .. it's the best assault rifle for squadmates.
If you're playing with squad cryo ammo, it's can be hilarious to shatter half of your enemies by making Samara throw them against walls.
Throw is also great for making your foes fall to their deaths .. like on collector platforms or a particular windy bridge.
I'm not even going to get started on area reave. It's ... nasty.
Jack .. err .. I never use Jack unless I'm playing an adept.
But if I am, however ... squad warp ammo works really well with singularity.
I give Jack pull as well, and if you ever manage to place a singularity at a spot where a (later) pull+warp launches multiple foes into, to be finished off with squad ammo .. it's sweet.
Usually, I also make her use a pistol (again, 'cos I don't upgrade shotguns).

Jack's usefulness depends on the difficulty setting. On Normal she's pretty awesome on almost any mission - better than most of the others IMO - but on Hardcore/Insanity she's no good because everyone has armor/shields/barriers which renders Shockwave useless. About the best thing you can do with her on Insanity is put one skill point in Pull and then max out her passive skill and her Warp Ammo. This basically makes her play very much the same as Jacob; they both have a shotgun, an ammo skill, and Pull. And yeah, they're both fairly useless.
Samara is awesome at fighting the Collectors thanks to her Reave skill. Spam it.

If you have one of the biotics such as jack or samara or jacob along with someone like Miranda they can still be somewhat effective at higher levels. Have Miranda bring down the shields and then let the biotics do their thing.

Miranda- Warp, overload, passive bonus. Can use anywhere, but I prefer to take her against Blue Sun and Eclipse.
Jacob- Squad Incendiary + Pull. Use against Blood Pack and on Derelict Reaper. Best used together with a Warper (Shepard or squadmate).
Zaeed- Squad Disruptor, Concussive Shot, Incendiary Grenade. Good against Blue Sun, Eclipse and Geth. I prefer putting more into Concussive Shot than Incendiary Grenade for the occasional vanguard.
Mordin- Incinerate, Cryo Blast. Use against Blood Pack.
Garrus- Overload, Concussive Shot, AP Ammo. Personally I prefer putting more points into Concussive Shot than getting Squad AP ammo (I'd rather Squad Incendiary against armour anyway). Great against Blue Suns and Eclipse and their occasional vanguard with Barrier.
Grunt- Squad Incendiary, Concussive Shot. Perhaps best for mixed Husk and Collector battles, eg Horizon.
Jack- Pull, Squad Warp Ammo. Probably best on Disabled Collector Ship and Suicide Mission. Best used together with a Warper.
Thane- Warp. He can also put out serious damage. Best used on Collector Ship and Suicide Mission.
Samara- Pull, Reave. Best against Collectors and Husks. Collector Ship, Derelict Reaper, Suicide Mission.
Morinth- Pull, Dominate. Perhaps best vs Blood Pack and Collectors.
Tali- Energy Drain, AI Hacking, Drone. Good against Geth, Blue Sun and Eclipse due to Energy Drain for shields and AI Hack for Geth and the LOKIs that mercs like to bring along. Absolute godsend when facing multiple YMIRs.
Legion- good for his own loyalty mission which is about the only time you ever get to use him unless you want to watch Kelly Chambers die a horrible death. Works great with Tali, strangely enough.
Jacob- Squad Incendiary + Pull. Use against Blood Pack and on Derelict Reaper. Best used together with a Warper (Shepard or squadmate).

Thanks, you've made me realise several changes of strategy I have to use on higher levels.
Looks like the way to go with Jack is forget about Shockwave(a shame, on normal she wiped the husks of the derelict reaper almost by herself).
Also, using a warper, like some of you suggest, to clear defenses so another biotic can use his powers looks like a solid strategy to still use some biotic powers on higher levels

Zaeed is great in the beginning and later on synthetic heavy missions if he specs +50% damage and disruptor ammo.
Thane with max shredder and marksman spec and Legion with widow rifle are extremely high dps.
Miranda is best shield stripper with area overload and SMG. She needs to have squad ammo power by endgame though
If Grunt specs inferno and warlord with an AR then he surpasses Zaeed and most everybody else not named Thane or Legion in health damage. Enemies that aren't geth or flyers have more health than shields. Employ a shield stripper with him.
Garrus is too fragile with the AR and sniper is not that great against shields especially since he only gets +25% base damage.
Personally controlling squad powers increases Samara, Garrus and Mordin's utility.
