Hi,
I have gone to the great hall with Avernus to close the veil. he says he must gather energy and then nothing happens.... I am unable to talk to avernus and if i leave the area and come back the cut scene restarts. Can someone tell me what is going on? Is it a bug?

I've had exactly this issue. It does seem like a bug. It is not encouraging that you posted this 8 days ago with zero responses.

I had to reload the auto save 3 times and run through the conversation every time but i got it to work

I had the same problem. I tried several ways to start the combat, reloading saves etc. nothing worked! I finally went to the screen where the fight is to take place and after the mage stops I left the keep for Lake Calenhad Docks. I then returned to soldiers peak and the seen started over again and Yeh Ha!!! The fight started. I don't know if this will work for anyone else but it worked for me! This is a bug sure as shooting!

I've got the same problem it it is making me mad. I've played the keep multiple times and in multiple ways but I just can't get the fight to start. Does anyone have any custome downloads that may be messing it up? I've got a few but I don't know how it could be the problem. I think this is a really cool game but I am just seeing too many errors from too many people. I really don't think I will buy any more Bioware games if they can't fix their stuff. (Not the S word I really want to use.)

I myself have this issue too. It never starts, I even played through the Redcliff part of the game and the Circle Tower and it still will not work.
The game was freshly installed and all content downloaded aswell.
As a side note I also gain ALOTE of CTD's compared to my first time I played through this game, I don't know what they have done since then, but it is very very bad.
